If Dee leaves...f*** next year.

We have to win this year.

I can't see it. I love Dee and he is a great college player but guys under 6 ft tall who can't consistently get into the lane and finish or create are not exactly in high demand. IMO he needs a year of actually being the man and the full time PG of this team. Right now there is no way he gets picked in the first round. Felton, Paul, Williams, Lucas, Chris Thomas, just to name a few would get picked higher than throw in guys like Gilchrist who could go pro and we should have Dee back next year.

IU has got to learn to block out and hit big freethrows if they are going to do anything this year.

This team is so young though; I didn't get to see any of the game being in Indy today, but wow, these freshmen are getting thrown into the fire. They're 3rd and 4th games of the season were against UNC and UConn. We'll get back on track on Wednesday against ND @ home.

George Washington 96, Michigan St. 83 Final

WTF?

I've seen GW play twice now, today against MSU and when they played Wake and they are a solid basketball team. With that said, MSU looks like the exact same team from last year that lost to basically every decent team they played.

Rex I couldn't get the game on 616 or 617 either, I had to switch to basic cable and get it on CBS, thankfully they had UNC-UK on my feed, when normally I get the East Coast feed.

As for UNC's defense, after the loss to SC without Felton, here is what UNC has done.

Beat BYU by 36, beat Tenn by 13, beat Iowa by 14, beat USC by 32, Indiana by 7 at IU, and beat Kentucky by 13 points.

UNC is allowing 71.5 ppg while scoring 91 a game, what more do you expect? When you are scoring 91 ppg against that schedule, you aren't gonna give up 50 points a game, Duke does that because Duke plays the Valporaiso's of the world.

Kentucky shot 25 3's and made 40% of them while shooting 43% overall to UNC's 49%. If UNC isn't close to the best team in the nation, I'm terrified to see the best team.

How can you argue that UNC isnt the best team? The only game they lost was when they didnt have Felton, which of course is 1 of 2 guards who make up the best backcourt in the nation. UNC would manhandle the Illini home or away because of 2 things, McCants and May. Illini would not be able to stop May on the inside with Augustine and Smith guarding him at the same time.

Everyone said the same f***ing thing about Turiaf.

Just keep rambling about how bad Illinois is, holy s***.

Take off your I hate Illinois blinders for one f***ing second.

Illinois and UNC would be the best matchup in college basketball right now. Both teams have awesome guards and just enough inside to dominate games. That would be a great matchup, maybe we will get to see it in the F4 or for the championship this year.

You do realize we dominated the Tar Heels just one year ago with the same exact rosters as they are this year right? Although that game was in Champaign, it was a drubbing just like we did to Wake Forest last week. I would say it would be one hell of a game on a neutral court though, perhaps in St. Louis.

palehose, how bad is Felton's wrist? When I saw him in serious pain today, I wondered if it might just be best for them to bite the proverbial bullet and sit him out for the next 3-4 weeks to let it heal

If you call losing to UNC by 7 points "drubbing" UNC then I guess you have a point.

Rex, Feltons wrist is pretty bad, supposed to take 6 weeks to heal. Thankfully UNC doesn't play again until December 12 and its against Loyola(Illinois), then Virginia Tech on the 19th. So if need be, Felton could sit out until the 21st against Vermont, who is a good team. After Vermont UNC has a few more cupcakes that Felton could rest with in UNC-Wilmington, Cleveland State, and William & Mary on January 2nd. But Ray is hurting pretty bad and got it jammed again today, I think he will play through it as he's never missed a game outside of the NCAA suspension for the first game this year.

Oops! That was 2 years ago that I'm recalling this information. This is why you dont go by memory before making points like that... Anyway, I was thinking of this game http://fightingillini.collegesports.com/sp.../120302aaa.html

We won 92-65. It seems like it was yesterday.... :rolly

With that schedule, I'd consider sitting him out through most of those games...... would help your depth situation as well. Is Wilmington a cupcake this year? They have been pretty solid in the tournament the past couple of years.

Btw, I used to play basketball in the neighborhood with their head coach. Just a "couple" of years ago. lol

Wilmington already has a loss at North Texas, and hasn't been the same since Brett Blizzard left. They weren't supposed to finish in the top 3 in the Colonial Athletic Association, so I'm not expecting much from them. Did you whip Brownell in the games?

not really....... he was always taller and lankier..... I am short and stocky...... but hey, at least I am slow and can't jump

This was like when we were in grade school..... we played on an 8-ft goal in a friend's driveway........

Not a bad basketball town..... Calbert Cheaney and Walter McCarty both went to the same HS he did..... my HS sent 3 or 4 guys to smaller D-I programs.... Chris Lowery, head coach at Southern Illinois also went to the same HS....

Yeah Turiaf really went off against us a week ago.

McCants?

Try Williams, Brown, and Head.

McCants wouldn't go nuts, and you'd have trouble guarding our perimiter.

Put the Koolaid down, my god.

I get the feeling that Illinois could go undefeated this year and He_Gawn would just say they got lucky and the rest of college basketball had a down year. Don't take anything he has to say about Illinois too seriously, he's just jealous that Illinois has replaced Indiana as one of the Big Ten's powerhouse teams in the last couple years.

As for the ISU game tonight, third "power conference" opponent we've defeated this year. The student section was great, someone had a sign saying "$t. John'$ Boo$ter$ Are #1", good stuff. I'm looking forward to at least an NIT berth this year.
