Not much you can do about it, I just expected more of a controversy over that. I'm just hoping you guys don't have to go through a season like UNC fans had to go through in 2002, its miserable. Atleast you guys have talent and a chance to come out of the funk this year, we had nothing then. I've heard that Majerus is interested in the IU job if it becomes available, that would be interesting.

That'd actually be kick ass if Majerus was the Indiana coach. He was able to successfuly recruit in UTAH, and he was a very solid coach. IU's really not far off; I would love to see him here. However, I don't know what will happen. IU's trying to get out of the red in the athletic department. They just fired DiNardo, and he has 2 more years left on his contract. If they were to fire Davis, and have to pay for 4 coaches at the same time...I don't know. We'll see.

I talked to my friend, who's a manager for the team.  He had to stay in Bloomington unti last night.  The clock guy was fired.  He didn't start the clock until he started dribbling.

To be honest, i'm not surprised.

Rex, dealing with tenths of a second when there are only .7 seconds left to begin with is a big deal. Sure, he's human, but that clock started way, way, way late compared to the time it hit his hands. There should not be that much of a human delay between the time the ball hit his hands to the clock starting. The guy was already dribbling by the time the clock started. Cost them the game.

I was just thinking that I would love to see Majerus come home to Indiana if he can get himself in shape by next year. The thought occurred to me right after he originally accepted the USC job.

I guess I just didn't see that much of a delay..... and I watched it 3 or 4 times.

Separately, greasy, you do know that Majerus got his start at Ball St, right? He would definitely know how to coach in this state. His success at Ball St. got him the Utah job.

Watch it one more time; he starts it when he's dribbling. He didn't catch it on the dribble or anything.

Oh yeah, I know that. I don't find it surprising that he had success in the state, but to be able to recruit guys like Andre Miller in Utah is a different story. I think Majerus could be a good replacement, but money's really a problem.

Downs admits that he's determined and acknowledged that observers have also described him as arrogant and aloof.

"Everybody gets along great at first, but once you get to learn people and know people, they probably get irritated about the things you do and I probably get irritated about the things they do," he said. "I don't know. People get jealous.

"I'm a competitor and I want everybody to do good out on the court. I don't know. Maybe they don't have the will to win as much as I do. I just want to win so bad, it's hard sometimes."

Downs' reputation took a hit after he skipped a mandatory team retreat to work out individually. Because of his absence, new Rebels coach Ezechiel Bambolo stripped him of his captaincy and benched him for the start of a much-anticipated game against Bothell on Dec. 17.

Downs is serving a two-game suspension for making an offensive gesture to a referee during the game.

He should fit right in with the NBA.
