Chisoxfn
Sox Acquire: Tim Hudson, Carlos Delgado, Nomar Garciapara How: Three way deal with Konerko going to Pitt, Kendall and cash going to Oakland and Huddie coming to the SouthSide. The Sox then sign Delgado to like a 2 yr 16 mill deal with some option years. They then sign Nomar to a 1 yr 7 mill deal. Payroll wise it would essentially fit right into that so called 75 mill payroll. Only weakness this team would have would be the bullpen. But could you imagine: Hudson Buehrle Garcia Contreras Garland Harris Nomar Lee Delgado Thomas Rowand Everett/Gload Crede Davis/Burke

Chisoxfn
Trust me, I wouldn't want Everett playing RF, but Delgado is an adequate first baseman. He may be big, but he actually is a pretty solid athlete.
Cerbaho-WG
Psht. That team could easily win it all. And Delgado was my idea, asshat!

Gene Honda Civic
The one hole I can punch in your theory... The pirates would be better off if they just traded Kendall for Hudson straight up... More salary relief, and probably a more valuable player than Konerko. More salary relief, and probably a more valuable player than Konerko. Damn, that Konerko for Kendall for Hudson deal was kind of mine from the start...with that crazy trade idea. But I had never thought about that. That is probably true. That would throw a kink into the deal big time. You'd undoubtedly have to sweeten the deal quite a bit for Pittsburgh to make that move...perhaps having something arranged prior to the trade that would then send Konerko to like Baltimore or Arizona or something similar to that. AddisonStSox
Time for a dose of reality. -Aquire Kendall through either PK or Garland (not both) -Sign Jeff Nelson -Trade PK for a front-line starter (A's, Yanks, Randy) -Aquire a IF/OF Utility guy off the scrap-heap That would be a fantastic off-season for a team utilizing Reinsdorfian baseball practices. AddisonStSox
So when does the reality kick in?? and that couldn't happen why? Granted it seems Kendall is going to Oakland, that is totaly "doable". Gosh, things were so much nicer while you were away. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. AngelasDaddy0427
In my opinion we have a solid team. My dream scenario would include us signing Derek Lowe which would give us a rotation of: Buherle Garcia Lowe Contreas Garland You cannot tell me that wouldn't be one of the most solid 1-5's in baseball and would be alot cheaper then any RJ deal. Plus trading Konerko for some kind of a RF (Reggie Sanders maybe from the Cards) and signing a decent 1B (Gload is more valuable off the bench). Then we need a setup man. Plus i'd want to sign a decent backup utility infielder to backup Harris and Uribe.
