southsider2k5
BTW, I am looking at a ticket RIGHT NOW, Sec 117, row 22, seat 3, on Sep. 24, 2002 agaisnt the Boston Red Sox that has a price on it for $1. Somtimes the Sox run deals on tickets, which is probably what yours is. OMG ticket prices have gone up 3000% and we have only gotten a doubling of payroll what a rip off, JR Screws up again!!!! Guest JimH
but, if it is a half price ticket.. For the record I don't know Its against the Yankees.. who is now a "Premier" ticket for $39.00 Again Tripled seat Prices Doubled Payroll Let's take this piece by piece. Your ticket is obviously a half pricer. That means it's a $17 normal price. Same price now (2005) for a Yankee game is $39. Tripling $17 does not equal $39. AnthraxFan93
Your right southside... I mean JR has doubled the payroll only to shell out all of it out of his pocket And you are also right, they didn't triple the prices , they actually incresed it by 4.5 times. Guest JimH
If the Yankees played at U.S. Cellular on a Monday nite, the price would be $19.50. $8.50 x 3 = $25.50. No matter how you slice it, that ain't tripling.

Maybe your math is totally different than mine, and maybe I'm way off base here, but 17 times 4.5 equals 76.50. I didn't know that JR was selling outfield seats for 76 bucks this season. Damn, looks like I won't be able to make it out to many games this season...

Guest JimH
actually, the price increase because of the "Premier" ticket there are no 1/2 prices for them Monday games in 2005 are half price, so are the Tuesday games if they're continuing the Pepsi deal. The Premiums are vs. Yankees, Dodgers, Boston if I'm not mistaken. None of those teams come into Chicago on a Monday or Tuesday. The games vs. LA, Boston, NYY are Fri. - Sun. maybe there's one Thursday in there. Your argument is skewed. If the NYY were coming into U.S. Cellular on a Monday, the price would be $19.50. You'd compare that price to your $8.50 ticket from 1999. That is a fair comparision. The way you're comparing is apples to oranges. They are "Premium" based on the opponent and the day of the week. It's not just the opponent. Again, if any of those teams were playing here on a Monday, it would be 1/2 price.

You go ahead convincing yourself that one single 1/2 price ticket from 1999 makes a better arguement than average ticket prices for the whole year. The Beast
So is there any way to prove that we have no money to spend this off-season without trading PK and Garland?
EvilMonkey
Kenny Williams and John Paxson, as well as Ozzie Guillen are guys who are young and inexperienced and become too candid for their own good. I like all of those guys but to be honest they are choices that were sometimes done to please fans. Were any of these guys qualified fully when they got the jobs from JR? They have worked out to varying degrees of success but their shooting from the hip results from inexperience. Kenny was as qualified as Evans who ran LA. Or the guy that is running Boston.
