Chisoxfn
Per the Score Outstanding news. This dline is gonna be around for a while and its going to be a good one. Mixed with a good secondary and a good linebacking core. Wow am I excited about the future.

Chisoxfn
Ya, whats new, Score was wrong. It was a 5 year extension. Anyone know how much money??? I'd guess somewhere around 12-15 mill.
GoodAsGould
well espn said it was a 4 year extension too at first so dont blame the score 2 much... but this is awesome whatevr way you look at it... Now we got 3 good DE's locked up for some time and i like them all.
Brian
Now we need to spend some $ on the offense and this team could be a Super Bowl team soon!
Credepopsup
Ogun, Harris, Brown - That's the makings of a really good D-line locked up for a couple of years. Great News..

GoodAsGould
i kind of like Ian Scott as a DT but id rather have that Rogers guy from detroit who i think is a FA...... or if not him Chris Hovan... the reason i say get another defensive FA is remember that our offense seemed good enuf with Grossman controlling it and if we had any capable backup at all we would have a winning record right now. While upgrading defense makes them just that much better.... i mean imagine it with a fully healthy urlacher, tillman, and brown back and then add a difference maker like rogers it would be even more amazing
Chisoxfn
Well Urlacher is expected to play (listed as questionable) and Tillman has been announced the starter this week with Rdub moving to Nickel back and Vasher as the dime back. Maybe at lt, wait and see, but we almost certainly need a guard unless someone steps up. And that's the starting unit -- there's almost no depth too. A wr and te wouldn't hurt, either. And Grossman hasn't proven yet that he can lead a team for a full season (although we shouldn't draft high for a qb, I like him so far). I think our offense needs a LOT of work. GoodAsGould
yes our offense is obviously not good at all.... but a large part of the blame goes to just the total blackhole we have at QB.... even if quinn and krenzel had all the time in the world i doubt they could be good in the NFL.... i dont blame krenzel too much 5th-6th round rookie isnt expected to play but the point is if we had anyone that could complete a pass as QB our offense could be good enuf
Soxfest
Glad Brown signed now whole draft in 2005 should be skill players on offense.

Chisoxfn
Wow RW over Vasher? I'd take Vash in coverage over RW... Usually I'd agree, but Rdub has played very very well the past 4-5 weeks. For every knock I have on Rdub I can safely say he's been the Bears best corner the past 4-6 weeks and it isn't even close. Vasher has made some plays but Rdub has had good coverage almost every play while Vasher still gets beat on the rookie mistakes. The Bears are going to have a very good secondary next year. However, I want to see Tillman play like he did at the end of last year and not like he did this year before getting hurt cause he was getting burned early in the season. With Tillman and Brown back there SS Bears 05 Defense

quade36
I was waiting about two months for this. Great Signing. There is still a place for Haynes though. 3 defensive ends is a plus. Plus Urlacher might be back this sunday.

I'd definitely stay away from him, he sure can talk a lot, but he does little to back it up. IIRC, last season he had a little over two tackles per game, something like that. He's definitely not a differencemaker... Great job Angelo. Very, very nice extension, and well deserved for, IMHO, the lineman who's played best thus far... CWSGuy406
Wonder what this means for Haynes...good bye maybe? Lovie has said that his defense needs three above average defensive ends for this defense to be successful, and I agree with that. Having three ends, all three who are very capable of creating a lot of pressure, is a nice luxury for this team...
Chisoxfn
Also the Bears have done some work with Haynes as a DT and I expect you'll continue to see more of it. He has good size for an end so it makes sense.
GoodAsGould
yeah haynes should get enuf playing time at DT and DE to keep him satisfied i still think we need another good DT though....but oh well if we upgrade seriously on offense Ian Scott will be good enuf
