Kenny Lofton

Think about it;

If KW can pull of a deal with NYY for Kenny Lofton, I would be OK with that. You can give up a B-level prospect or even JOE BORCHARD for Kenny. He could lead-off for us AGAIN and play Center Field. Aaron Rowand would then move over to RF. Kenny can still cover ground out there in center but he still does have a poor arm. What do you guys think?

Joe Borchard for Kenny with the Yanks picking up the tab would work for me and I bet the Yanks would consider it. They could move Borchard elsewhere in a package.

Borchard isn't going to make it with the Sox, but another team will be at least intrigued with him, imo.

I don't think Lofton left on good terms, and why is it that some people want an aging CF for was injured 3 times last year, but don't want an older pitcher who is coming off of one of his best seasons, and is still one of the most dominating pitchers in the league?

One would be free...

The other would cost 16 Mil...

We would still have to give up talent to get Lofton and who would help out our team more?

Any team that has Kenny Lofton on their roster will NOT win the World series.

RJ can carry a team during the World Series.

So if it was between Joe Borchard and Kenny Loften straight up with Yankees paying for everything....you wouldn't take it....

As long as we're in fantasy land, I'll trade Jason Grilli back to the Marlins for Josh Beckett.

The Yankees aren't stupid, and it is now being reported that the Yanks could trade him to the Phills for either Marlon Byrd or Felix Rodriguez and cash.

I don't want Lofton back in a Sox uni.

Seems like a solid move for both teams.  Would anyone else mind seeing the sox picking up Marlon Byrd since it appears he's available.

A Joe Borchard trade for an over the hill veteran, who was injured, doesn't make sense at all. We need a starting pitcher and a closer and not a player on the down hill side of his career. I think Philly is a good place for him. We have a pretty good OF now and with Maggs gone it gives one of our younger players a chance to move up. It's time we see what these guys are made of anyway. We have heard all the hype now it's time to perform.

If you are referring to byrd he is only 27. Far from over hill, cheap as hell, near league minimum. Down side of his career? He has only played two full season in the majors and i would not even sat it was two full years. Yes, last year was terrible for him. But why not get someone while their stock is low? If he pans out it looks like a steal.

I am with ya Qwerty. Byrd was once thought of as one of the better prospects in baseball. Solid speed, solid defense, and if I recall he's a good OBP guy for a younger player (young given his MLB experience).

Sure he struggled last year, but the year before he did a solid job. I just don't know what type of package would work for him. I mean I wouldn't think they'd do Adkins and Borchard or anything along those lines.
