A subplot of the "Barriod" scandal

Recommended Posts

I agree with you that he could have helped him out.. difference is I believe he did.

I know I've told this story before.. but quickly.. I met Barry 5 or 6 years ago - maybe 4 diffferent times during the season. Nice guy, really. This was before his father was real sick. A couple years pass and I had not seen him since. When Ray got traded I went to some games and after we all went out to dinner. In walks Barry.. he walks around saying hi to everyone.. and without missing a beat.. walks up to me.. says hello to me by name. Spends a few minutes asking me how life is, buys a few rounds of drinks, etc, etc..

Here is a guy who meets and talks to hundreds of people over the season.. and after 2 years remembers my name...? And goes out of his way to say hello..?? That, to me, is not a guy who would treat his friends.. those he sees on a regular basis (his trainer) like crap.

Clearly, because of meeting him I have a different opinion about him and I think he really would have/did do all he could for the guy.

Respect to you also, SFF.  :cheers

Maybe he thought you were hot and you caught his eye. :huh

Barry can be a racist all he wants.

We can give it back. Barry better not catch himself standing near any oak trees.

I'm so sick of arrogant black people. "ZOMG U TREETED US LIK SIHT SO NOW WE HAV DA RITE 2 AKT SOOPEEREEOR!!! LOLOL"

Dude, don't say that. Have some class, be above it. But even if you're not gonna be classy, have a sense of history. That's a horrible thing to say, regardless of race, color, religion, ethnicity, anything.

Didn't Bonds* say something along the lines that he wanted to beat Ruth, solely because he wanted two black men on the top of the list?

Yes.

Bonds is probably one of a subset of the black population that thinks blacks CANNOT be racist..... no matter what their views are or what they say/think. He's a twit.

I was listening to Dan Patrick on ESPN radio this morning and 2 interesting things happened. First, Patrick was accused of being a racist because he criticized Bonds' involvement in this thing. He shot that down pretty emphatically by saying that he didn't receive one email from anyone accusing him of being anti-Italian for ripping Giambi the day before.

Second, Mark Grace was a guest and he stated that he had lots of teammates over the years that used steroids. He'd never out them, but they were there. I wonder who he was talking about.

Minorities and the liberal, white left throw out the word "racist" so often now-a-days that they probably wouldn't know a genuine racist if he/she was standing right in front of their face.

I'm against players using performance-enhancing drugs in sports and Barry Bonds is black. I guess I'm a racist. Where do I pick up my white hood and torch?
