Xero
I bet most of us people who couldn't watch the game want to know this. How was Hutchinson today? We won and I know he threw 3 TD's but other than that, did he look good? Edited December 5, 2004 by southsider2k4

chimpy2121
He looked extremely good. About 80% of his passes were right on target. He also throws a laser, and can convert third and long. I am very impressed. Hopefully we can keep it up next week against a tough D with Jax.

I think he isnt as impressive next week against that awesome D of Jax... but I think he can minimize mistakes and maybe get us enough points where if we contain Fred Taylor... we can win. Chad threw a couple of sinkers today though I think he forgot that in football... when the catcher catches it.... it has to be in the air first.. but whatever the guy played awesome today
MinnesotaSoxFan
C. Hutchinson 18/30 213 yds and 3 passing TD's. 3 rushing attempts for 14 yards.
KevHead0881
Happy with his performance today, but can't help but wonder why he wasn't in there 3 or 4 weeks ago. I could tell from the first drive that he was light years better than Quinn and Krenzel.

I understand the learning the offense bit, but in the end, Krenzel and Quinn were so bad, why wait till now? I'd take the guy who doesn't know the offense over the other two. Still happy about the win though. Happy returns from Urlacher and Tillman. Didn't hear much from Moss today, did we?

Believe it or not, I'd actually feel somewhat comfortable going in to next year with Grossman, Hutch, and George as our QB's. Compared to this years situation, thats like going with Elway, Marino and Montana

I just dunno how he's gonna like that role ya know?

chisox05
I thought he did good. He made the big play when we needed it(3rd and long). He looked comfortable and when things broke down, he scrambled to the outside and look for a good pass. Made 1 forced throw the whole game and protected the ball well when sacked. I was very impressed.
chisox05
Very pleased with Hutch today. Big game next week however, see if this week wasnt a fluke against a bad D. If he keeps it up, he will be a GREAT backup next season for us. If he keeps it up, we will be getting offered lots of deals from teams, similar to the AJ Feeley situation. Chisoxfn
I was very pleased with him. Had their not been a few drops he'd of had even a better game. Shea also called his best game of the season as he used some slant patterns and called more 3 step drops which was a big help. Hutchinson used tight ends, receivers, fullbacks, and running backs and was very efficient. I don't even blame him for the fumble cause Mitchell was absolutely clobbered on that play and just let the end waltz on through. The oline did that at least a few times. On the other side of the spectrum, I think its time Train starts getting at least half of the carries.

chisox05
IMO thats the biggest bunch of BULLs*** yet. I dont understand the reasoning behind it, but for some reason, either Shea, Lovie, or mabye Angello wanted to ride Kreznel as long as they could. The thing that gave it away was that they said George was ready to come in this week if needed. I know he was #3 this week, but earlier they said he COULD come in. That was never said about Hutch. The learning the system BS was a cop out for something.... Well, once they put krenzel in, hutchinson was learning the system. He was probly ready a week or 2 later, but the team kept winning, and its hard to bench an undefeated quarterback no matter how bad he is doing. so he went 3-0 then 3-1. He had 1 more chance and then they would probly bench him, so they did and now hutchinson went in. I am pretty shocked how well chad did

The learning the system BS was a cop out for something.... Ya, i don't know how it could take someone several weeks and not know say half of the plays at least. The way i heard it is he knew practically none of the plays a week ago and had hardly taken any snaps in practice. Something is wrong with that picture, no one can have that much faith in krenzel and quinn.

The learning the system BS was a cop out for something.... They said when Hutch first came to the Bears, he was throwing the ball like a pitcher, not a QB. They had to break his mechanics down and rebuild them. That kinda stuff takes time. Today, he looked damn good. A month ago, he might have made Quinn look great in comparison. I think we actually have a pretty good coaching staff now. The Wanne/Jauron eras were horrid. I'd say give Smith and his staff the benefit of the doubt on this call.
