DBAHO
Forget about all the FA SP's we're missing out on, Tim Hudson would be the BIGGEST prize for the team who is able to trade for him. Talent wise, he's the best out of all the big 3, but he'll cost the most out of the big 3 too. His numbers over the past few seasons have really been quite amazing, and if he can stay injury free he's a sure #1 starter for us. I really don't want to deal Carlos instead of Pauloe, but for a guy just like Hudson, you have to make sacrifices. And yes, amazingly the A's could have interest in Willie too, but then the White Sox would have to go out and sign a FA 2B like Polanco or Cairo ASAP. qwerty
92-39 record with a Career 3.30 ERA. Im interested to hear what you think is a "Great" pitcher??????? 300-0, 0 era?
elrockinMT
Assuming the Sox plan on resiging Huddy to a deal I'd be all for it. I'd give Huddy a 3yr 30 mill offer and see if he took it if the teams worked out a deal. How Much!? Please be realistic on values. $10M a year for Hudson? witesoxfan
How Much!? Please be realistic on values. $10M a year for Hudson? Are you suggesting under or over? Personally, I would be ecstatic if we could not only acquire Hudson but then lock him up to a 3-year deal for $30 mill. That would be a steal. Hudson is one of the best young pitchers in the majors, period. We get him and we are almost assured the AL Central title, assuming we make adequate moves to replace the players traded. GreenSox
Now I found this on Rotoworld; I know everyone would take Hudson over Javier Vazquez, my question is, would you give up Carlos Lee or Aaron Rowand and Jon Garland for Tim Hudson if that is what Billy Beane truly wanted. Bedard could also be a young arm to look at possibly, but I doubt KW would go into that. Uh...That's a good deal?
greasywheels121
300-0, 0 era? I'm sorry, I'm not interested in pitching for the White Sox.

DBAHO
Looks like the Braves are interested in Hudson; Drew, Wright depart; Braves confirm talks to trade Giles Atlanta Journal-Constitution "The Braves have talked to Oakland about a possible trade involving second baseman Marcus Giles and Athletics ace Tim Hudson, who's owed $6.75 million in the final year of his contract and can become a free agent after next season... The Yankees are trying to peddle volatile former All-Star Kevin Brown on the Braves, but New York would have to cover almost his entire $15 million contract and the Braves wouldn't give up much talent in return for the Georgia Tech graduate." DBAHO
Also this is what it will cost to lock up Hudson long - term; In other words, a contract extension for Hudson would be critical, and industry sources say he is looking for a four-year deal worth $12 million to $14 million per year. Hudson, 29, went 12-6 with a 3.53 ERA last season. An industry source said the St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves, New York Mets and New York Yankees are also in the running for Hudson. But Beane has told the Orioles they could be the right fit because they have the talent the A's are seeking in return. It's pitching Beane wants, as he looks to retool a rotation that has relied so heavily on the Big Three - Hudson, Mark Mulder and Barry Zito. Mulder and Zito won't be eligible for free agency until after 2006, and Hudson moved to the front of the trading block when he gave A's management a March 1 deadline to complete a contract extension. beck72
I don't really buy into the A's wanting or only settling on pitching for Hudson. They need a power bat that they won't get by free agency. Few teams will trade pitching for Hudson, unless it's bullpen guys. Maybe that's why the sox signed LHP Kevin Walker. Trade Arnie Munoz as part of Hudson deal? YASNY
If Hudson wants that kind of money, I seriously doubt he'll be on the southside.
southsider2k5
Also this is what it will cost to lock up Hudson long - term; And with one year wonders like Jaret Wright getting multi-year $7 mil per contracts, Hudsons asking price isn't crazy at all. Purdue129
As I put in the Rumors Thread, KNFS in STL is reporting Hudson for Haren & Marquis. Hudson's agent is supposed to be on at 4:30.

And a pitcher of Hudson's quality was keeping St. Louis from going further in the World Series IMO. A top of the line starter like Hudson/Johnson is what St. Louis needs to put them at the top in the NL.....even though they were there last year...this deal would keep them there
Chisoxfn
Another rumor swirling is him going to St. Louis.
shakes
Dan Patrick, on his radio show, said there is a deal in place for Hudson going to St. Louis. He couldn't confirm who the Cardinals were giving up.
