Southside hitmen

santo=dorf,

Your avatar is AWESOME! Easy E Rules!  :headbang

Thanks.

Someone had it in their Sig at WSI, and GTA: San Andreas popped into my head. I was thinking of putting Odalis Perez in my Avatar, but I've been jinxing the Sox with my sigs and avatars. :(

I'm sensing a bit of the Troll.

First off, Pitt is in-love with Perez. They are ga-ga over this kid. They think he is the cornerstone for their rotation for years to come.

Second, I really do not anticipate a Ben Sheets sweepstakes. Doug Melivn has a plan for that club and Sheets is a major part of it. We will NEVER see a Brewers Garage Sale like that of the Pirates a couple years ago; not under Melvin's watch.

We get the best young pitcher in baseball with the best stuff in baseball as well as a power hitter who can play 1st for us.

You're joking right?

Mark Prior, Johan Santana, Ben Sheets all rank ahead of him, and that is just me scraping the surface.

One of the best, maybe...not THE best...no way in hell.

In terms of what?

As for Peavy being better then Perez, well better command and better bats behind him, yes. Perez is a power pitcher the likes of Pedro. Peavy is a Maddux in the making.

However, The Padres COULD have given up Dennis Tankersley (whom they just traded to KC for May) and X Nady for Giles and kept Perez, but somehow Kevin Towers saw more upside in Tank and ranked the 3 pitchers Peavy, Tank then Perez.

It wasn't a Todd-Ritchie type deal, but will come back to haunt my Pads.

Peavy's another solid pitcher too...better then solid actually.

He and Perez, while they do not have similar stuff, are in the same league. For some reason, I was not thinking of him...not sure why.

I don;t necessarily KNOW that Peavy is better. It's probably splitting hairs. Neither one has hit the 200 inning mark yet in a season. This is always a tough argument because tehre are so many great young pitchers like Sheets, Santana (booh), Prior and even Josh Beckett. I didn't quite understand the better hitters behind him argument when he led the world in ERA. I would say his park helped that a lot, but whne you have Ryan Klesko's defense behind you, some things get negated :)
