Punch and Judy Garland
bullpen arm i take it? It better not be as a fifth starter.

AnthraxFan93
OKAy p/u I think.. You can never have to many dependable arms in the pen.
JDsDirtySox
The Score is speculating he has been signed to become the closer. A role which he succeeded in with the Giants for the end of last season.
Punch and Judy Garland
He better not be the closer either. Shingo earned that job.

CubKilla
No he is a reliever.. possible closer I believe Only in title. He was f***ing brutal as SF's closer last season.
EvilJester99
I have a feeling the Sox will use him as a reliever and will only be a closer is Shingo collapses.... I think its a solid pick up.
JDsDirtySox
Only in title. He was f***ing brutal as SF's closer last season. Brutual as a Closer? He converted 17 opps, with only 3 BS.
AnthraxFan93
Come on, WTF? If it's not broke......... Always good to have a back-up plan just in case... This is also another good move incase we have to have 3-4 days in a row needing a save. For once KW does something right..in theory.
Punch and Judy Garland
I don;t mind him as a set-up man but would you rather have a guy that wa 19/20 or 17/20. The job shouldn't even be up for grabs in spring training.

Punch and Judy Garland
He had a couple of bad games in October that were probably on tv. That's probably why.
JDsDirtySox
I love Shingo just as much as the next guy, but I feel Hermanson is better suited to be our closer. With me saying that, I am sure they will make him our fifth starter. Kenny Williams will be on the Score in 15 minutes to talk about the signing. Punch and Judy Garland
I don't understand why you feel that he's better suited. Hermanson has been a starter all of his life up until the final two months of 04. SHing has been a great closer in Japan and was sensational for us. One thing you know about Shingo is that he's not going to be afraid to close games. To each his own I guess.

GoodAsGould
i love this move a solid arm in the bullpen now i have faith in it with shingo, marte, hermason, pollite, cotts and hopefully felix diaz. screw jon adkins
southsider2k5
Meh, I'd rather see Baj get a shot at it...
santo=dorf
Maybe it was just the games I watched When he was first converted into a closer, it was in a series against the Scrubs, and he f***ing dominated them.

He wasn't bad, At least we got a role for him. Many people were thinking he'd never make it. I think he'll help the pen. As for hermanson well he could help the pen, I guess used to be a closer in College when he threw harder. But i bet Kenny will say he'll compete for the 5th starter job
GoodAsGould
if he truly does become our 5th starter ill be really dissapointed but as a reliever and maybe 6th starter incase something happens ill be fine w/ that.
