Brian
link 'Fraid to give it to Hart cuz he is a freshmen? I can think of a few guys better than Tate, who no doubt had a good year, but damn.
Chisoxfn
Drew Tate may just win himself a Heisman before he lives Iowa. He's got the shot to be that good. He's not a pro qb, but he knows how to run an offense, is exceptional outside the pocket, and was a great leader for a youngster.

I went to a QB camp with him and all he did was suck up to everyone, it made me sick

He is all Big Ten and you are on a message board complaining about it
WilliamTell
I'm surprised Tate won it. But when I look back at the Big Ten, the biggest name was Kyle Orton for a while and he fizzled out. I would've liked to see Braylon Edwards win it though.
IlliniKrush
I'd give it to Hart or Edwards over him
Gene Honda Civic
Tate was the best quarterback in the big ten... He lead his team to a B10 title without a running game (Iowa's leading rusher had 210 yards!!!, on the season!!!) Every team knew all they had to do was stop Tate and they'd beat Iowa. He was their only weapon. -- In the final game of the year facing a top 10 team, with a big ten title on the line, he lead his team to a 3 touchdown victory. That same day, with a B10 title and rose bowl birth on the line, hart was busy rushing for 63 yards in the biggest game of the season for his team.. His own coach even said before the game, you've had a nice season, but we'll see if you're a "a real big ten" running back vs. OSU. The hiesman is often won in the closing weeks of the season on one signature play. Tate had a signature play. -- With under 2 minutes left in the 1st half Wisconsin tied the game at 7, Iowa gets the ball at about their own 30. Less than a minute later, with the ball sitting at about midfield, Tate rolled right out of the pocket, but Wisconsin sent a blitzing LB from that side, he came through almost untouched. Tate pulled his patented spin move back towards the pocket, spun his head back downfield, saw he had an open man, and threw a fifty yard pass, off his wrong foot for a TD.
