striker
If the Sox could do Lee & Harris (maybe cash or prospects) for Hudson then Kornerko & Garland to AZ, RJ to NYY and Sox get Vazquez and Gordon (mentioned somewhere in the ESPN thread) then our staff would be sooooo dope: SP Hudson SP Vazquez SP Buehrle SP Garcia SP Contreras RP Gordon RP Hermanson RP Marte RP Politte RP Cotts RP Takatsu And our payroll would still be between $70-75 mil. mmmmmmm pitching is goooood. striker
Oops, my bad. Harris rowand Thomas Everett Dye Gload uribe crede davis still yuck. Harris would have been included in the Oakland trade. We could sign Polanco or try for another 2B. CF Rowand 2B Polanco DH Thomas RF Dye LF Everett 1B Gload 3B Crede CA Davis That lineup is not the Yankees but good enough to get the job done. Scariest part is the number of games Thomas, Dye and Everett all missed last year.
upnorthsox
Oops, my bad. Harris rowand Thomas Everett Dye Gload uribe crede davis still yuck. Mansgayb**** could be easily had from the Bosox to give us a GGer at first. Anyhow, I can't seem to recall what we won with all the firepower we've had the past few yrs. Tjones
I still wouldnt do that trade, only one person would hit over .300 and that would be rowand
BobDylan
I am nervous when Lee's name comes up in trade talks cause I think he's an All Star. If they get Hudson they better be serious about locking him up. Agreed. I'd rather trade Konerko for Vaz and run.

Anyhow, I can't seem to recall what we won with all the firepower we've had the past few yrs. There is no power off the bench and no real good back up for any of our injury prone players. Sorry, I can't see them doing this. they need to keep either Kong or Lee.

Wise Master Buehrle
Read the Kenny said if the Sox trade Konerko there gonna target Delgado Where? Damn, that'd be nice. Need to be done fast though.
upnorthsox
Well Kong + CLee + Gar + Harris = $20.5 mil While Vazquez + Hudson + Gordon = $19.5 mil So there would be a little money left over, but more than that, a buzz would be created that would compel them to spend more. At least $5-6 mil more which could get us at least one more decent bat for the lineup.

kapkomet
Rowand is not a leadoff hitter I would want him to hit 3rd in front of Frank if we remove Lee from our team. Rowand. Third in the Batting Order. Are you serious?

Wise Master Buehrle
Rowand. Third in the Batting Order. Are you serious? Rowand is showing potential to become a SERIOUS RBI guy. When he started doing well, he was knocking in run after run after run. He definately ain't no bottom of the order guy, that's for sure. qwerty
I have been saying this since june that rowand could bat third. Problem is we would not have a two hitter or a lead-off hitter.
chisox05
I am glad KW isn't a hypicrit and will go after Delgado again after the failure midseason. This gives all the more reason to do the RJ trade.
False Alarm
though the #s are probably skewed cuz of his R/L splits, rowand had a .369 OBP in > 150 AB as a leadoff hitter last year and was 17 of 22 in SB. it may not be an ideal situation, but dude can lead off. witesoxfan
Why not? Because you put guys in the lineup where they are suited best. He could be a #3 hitter for the Sox, and he could do well...but I feel along with many others that he'd be better suited for the #2 spot. He is basically pencilled in to be our #2 hitter next year. TheBlackSox8
so does Lee bat third or fourth?? Seeing how Maggs was third, i think Lee replaces Magglio in a way stat wise and then Dye would replace the "old" Lee of 2001 and 2002...which his stats were the same as Dye of 2004, except the k's. Lineup of possibly?? Harris(currently) Rowand/Uribe Lee Thomas/Everett Konerko Dye Uribe/Rowand Crede Davis/Burke I'm assuming this is the current 2005 lineup with the team the Sox have now.. WHarris1
On SC the Sox weren't even one of the 5 teams mentioned in the Hudson hunt. Sounds like KW to me...
