Mr. Showtime
next rumor from Gammons: Johnson, Vazquez, Konerko and Garland three-way trade. sez if Randy turns down contract extension discussion the deal will reopen. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO -- don't give up Konerko and Garland for Vazquez. That's too much. What doesn't make sense is that at the end he said that the D-Backs don't believe Glaus can play 3rd anymore. So ofcourse that puts him at 1B. Where the hell would Konerko play? I doubt they would trade for Konerko then turn around and deal him
southsider2k5
If we do this does it free up any money at all? What does Vazquez make? Konerko + Garland = Vazquez for 2005 almost exactly. IIRC PK = 8.75 mil, Garland 3.4 mil, Vazquez = $12 mil

thomsonmi
It frees up money if the Yanks (as I understand is part of the deal) will pay a good portion of Vazquez's salary.

striker
There are plenty of decent hitters available in the market. Gload could take 1st and Everett could play left. That would be one devestating rotation.
