Rex Hudler
Anyone know if the Rule V draft can be followed love, either on radio (internet) or some kind of chat session? What time does it begin?
southsider2k5
BA has a blog for it. I guess only 12 players got picked, and the Sox weren't mentioned at all.
Guest JimH
RHP Ryan Warpinski from the Marlins in the AAA phase, I think Warpinski pitched in Class A last year. Unremarkable numbers.
OfficerKarkovice
Yep... Quote The White Sox selected Ryan Warpinski from the the Marlins in the Triple-A phase. At Texas A&M, Waspinski had a teammate named Ryan Wardinski. Guest JimH
Over 50 players were taken in the AAA phase, so the White Sox may have added/lost a few guys.
OfficerKarkovice
Just for the record...because I'm getting bored waiting for Levine's big news...you can check out new guys stats here: Ryan Warpinski
Chisoxfn
When my finals are over I'll write something better on Warp. But he is a guy that may have some upside. Missed all of 2003 with arm trouble and 2004 was his first year back. Don't know what his injury was in 03, but his 02 numbers were very good in Aball. 2-4, 2.48 ERA in 15 starts. 70 hits in 76.1 innings with 61 strikeouts. Most of his outings last year came in the SAL, which is the same league Kanny plays in. Was an 8th round pick in 2002 out of Texas A&M. Chisoxfn
He had an elbow surgery during his tenure at A&M. Prior to his injury he had dynamite stuff. Actually missed roughly two seasons with the Aggs both from the same arm injury (it was like a surgery that kept him out of most of two seasons). I'm assuming Tommy John but not positive on that. Would of been a higher pick had he had the opportunity to show that he was healthy.
Chisoxfn
I should add, these type of moves rarely have an effect on the major league club. This is a move done to potentially improve Charlotte. But who knows, anything could happen.
danman31
We lost Jhonny Rivera in the AA portion of the draft. We also selected Sean Smith in the AAA portion. He actually has some decent stats. Could be a very solid move, even if only for AAA. His stats
Chisoxfn
Who the hell was Johnny Rivera? Was he a little used guy down in rookie ball or something?

No Jason, that wasn't a typo. His name is Jhonny. From the Dominican, played in GF last season, sucked. Jhonny Rivera
