The more I think about it.

Lee for Pos and Hardy or whoever. Don't know if they could get them, but get the prospects necessary (maybe the A's be interested in Spivey). Whatever it takes get the prospects necessary to pull a deal with the A's and then the Sox include Anderson or whomever else to make it work out.

That would give Oakland a very good prospect (probably near top) from Mil, a top prospect from the Sox (Anderson) and then Beane's pick at one of the pitchers not named Bmac (or whatever the hell else he wants and yes if begged enough I'd deal Bmac too).

Sox net Huddy and Pos and pretty much complete their offseason.

On an unrelated sidenote, if the Sox deal Konerko and if they really are interested in Koskie, you could almost see them deal Everett for Koskie and I bet Toronto does that cause they get away from a long term deal.

If it's the Milwaukee thing, I'd like to see a minor league arm come the White Sox's way in addition to Podsednik and Ginter.

IF this stuff is true, it goes to show how valuable leadoff guys are, not to mention a guy who can steal 70 bases. Those guys are just not readily available.

Ginter is a good scrappy ballplayer, I can see why the Sox would want him. There is still the question of SS though. Who backs up Uribe? Ginter has next to no experience at SS. I am getting ahead of myself here though.

"An undisclosed team jumped into the bidding for free agent Matt Clement yesterday.

"A new team I hadn't thought of jumped in," agent Barry Axelrod said. "Not one that traditionally has had wherewithal, but might in this case." Milwaukee? The Angels, Dodgers, Blue Jays, Indians, Diamondbacks and maybe the Cardinals have offered Clement deals. Axelrod said it was "his fondest hope" Clement would sign by Wednesday. It looks like it's going to take at least $27 million over three years and $40 million over four years can't be ruled out. Dec. 13 - 12:08 pm et"

What types of arms does Mil have close to being ready? Obviously Cappelan but he ain't going anywhere.

I just know they have some really good middle infield prospects and of course Prince Fielder. Don't know if Lee could net one of those really good infield prospects but if they could I could see Beane really liking the idea of a deal with the Sox.

I think the Sox will keep Pos and move whoever else they get elsewhere. Call it a straight hunch.

Still if the Sox got Ginter, Pos and a good prospect, plus went out and signed someone It could work out. But I like the idea of a bigger trade myself :)

If they want Pos...just deal Crede for Pos and then swing an Everett for Hinske trade.

I'm going to just hope its a huge deal for Ben Sheets.  Please, PLEASE, PLEASE :)

That could explain why he would be so happy to announce something. From today's Sun-Times:

The winter meetings will close this morning with the Rule 5 draft. It was during last year's Rule 5 proceedings that the Sox selected pitcher Jason Grilli, who now is in the mix for the No. 5 starting spot.

But with the 40-man roster full, Williams said it isn't likely the Sox will participate in the major-league portion of the draft.

''Not unless a trade happens,'' he said with a wink.

Last summer, the infamous Otis kept saying that the Sox were trying REALLY hard to get the real "Big Ben."

Make me s*** my pants Kenny. :pray

And he was wrong. They weren't. And even if they were.. there was no way in hell Milwaukee was not letting him go.

Your drawers are safe... ;)

Finally one other person (actually I'm making an assumpion here Steff) that agrees with me that Otis was absolutely full of s***.

The guy lucked out and to this day I believe he was completely full of crap.

Yeah he came up with some really f***ed up three way deals involving the Sox, Red Sox and Rangers or Angels. It really didn't make sense how his "Boston source" knew whom the White Sox would give up to get some one.
