AddisonStSox
Honestly KW, until I see how you are gonna use this money, I won't sleep well either. I collapsed when he said they may keep the resources to have the ability to make a deal in June or July. :puke Hopefully he's just trying to stay under... thomsonmi
He's giving himself away again. He did the same goofy giggling thing just before signing Dye and making todays trade.
GreenSox
Williams believes media's obsession with hot stove talk has impeded his ability to search for talent. Specifically said he'd be able to "sleep easier at night" if attention wasn't so intense. Yes the media scrutiny had him so frazzled that he read the .313 OBP as .373 OBP on his scouting report
fathom
I actually think that KW is so set on flying under the radar that that was the reason he said the June comment. There's no way that Ozzie won't pressure him to get another starting pitcher.
thedoctor
if the sox don't sign another starting pitcher i'm going to say bad words very loudly.
Gene Honda Civic
He's giving himself away again. He did the same goofy giggling thing just before signing Dye and making todays trade. He's giving himself away, but he's not saying *anything* -- A deal appears imminent.
AddisonStSox
He's giving himself away, but he's not saying *anything* -- A deal appears imminent. Absolutely. So far this season he is 2 for 2. There was giggling followed by long moments of silence prior to the Dye signing. And He told Bruce a deal might take place within the next two hours. I can't believe I'm saying this, but... Kenny, you're tipping your hand.

Gene Honda Civic
The point is, he's not messing up his words... He's letting you know he IS out there trying to get something done, and he's probably very close to having it done without having to say *anything*

Chisoxfn
Just tuned in. First comment definitely will irk several of you: Williams: "We may save our additonal resources (money) for June" Call it a hunch, but this is him back in stealth mode. If were talking trade he'll be more talkative but when it comes to free agency he's going to act as if the Sox have zero fund still. But if they sit pat and go with Grilli or Diaz I'll be so freaking pissed.
Chisoxfn
On a sidenote, did Kenny actually say they were interested in Clement? I'm assuming he pretty much mentioned zero names.
hi8is
on a side note: francis the mute, the mars volta's pending CD set to be released in march... was leaked on the internet today...and i was one of the first people to hear it... muhahahahah, i RULE! behind the melting cones, i said one day you'll remember
Guest JimH
On a sidenote, did Kenny actually say they were interested in Clement? I'm assuming he pretty much mentioned zero names. Kaplan and Waddle asked him about Clement Jason. They said hey, you tried to trade for him when he was with Florida, didn't you? And KW said, normally he'd be in no comment mode but it was no secret he was talking at length with Clement's agent today at the meetings so it's fair to conclude they're interested. maggsmaggs
My guess is the Sox and Clement have a lot of mutual interest. The Sox need Clement and Clement wants to stay in Chicago.

If they are done after signing Clement, they can afford about 8-10m a year which is the numbers being thrown around for him
