fathom
No and god no! Cotts shouldn't be in the majors until he learns another pitch. And with all the additions to the relief core, Adkins might be the odd man out.
qwerty
Cotts needs to get innings in triple a i believe, alot might not agree with me but in my opinon he does. Adkins is definitely not a starter in the major leagues.

Adkins is definitely not a starter in the major leagues. If you anyone that hasn't really been talked about grab that fifth spot, it will be BMac ... Or AMac ... or DMac? .... Hell, let's just use the vairable "X" until this is decided. XMac it is!
upnorthsox
Cotts is our lefty specialist, the only way he doesn't make the team is if another lefty(Munoz?) beats him out. Adkins will most likely start the season in AAA but I like the kid and none of the vets better come to camp thinking they've already made the team. whitesox91403
I guess my dreams of Antonio Osuna coming back are dead.
Rex Hudler
With the bullpen they have put together, unless Politte becomes the long man, it will be difficult for Cotts to make the club. There won't be much room for a lefty specialist on an 11-man staff, the way it is set up right now. Cotts will likely have to beat out Adkins for the long relief role. No matter how good your starters are, a bullpen has to have a guy that can come in once or twice a week and give you 3+ innings.

No room for them; Kenny Williams has a plan to get us another big time starter. No way would this exceptional general manager, this keen, savvy negotiator, trade lee and get about 1/4 value in return, without a starting pitcher all locked up. winninguglyin83
Think of the bright side: When this team goes totally in the tank this summer, the only possible move to make is firing Kenny Williams and getting a real general manager. Well, at least KW should be fired. I can't promise we'll get real general manager. But when the Indians and Tigers zoom past us, it should be over for Kenny Stanford. Y2HH
How about Cotts and Adkins compete with Matt Clement for a starters spot. =D

Rowand44
dont discount them ingines there son Unless they sign another solid starter which it looks like they won't, I'll guarantee you they finish with a worse record then last year . CanOfCorn
I know many of you wouldn't like this (actually, either would I), but cotts or adkins could battle Grilli and any other SP for the 5th spot, because KW could hold on to the money until midseason to trade for another pitcher, like he did with Freddy Garcia last year. For instance, he could get a Ben Sheets or Tim Hudson, if he isn't traded before hand. Let the lambasting begin.
megs04sox
cotts SUCKS. if he's one of our starters this year, then we might as well give up before it starts...
