Butter Parque
With about 6 million on the payroll open now, could KW be able to sign AJ Pierzynski and either Clement or O. Perez. You could trade Konerko if you want to clear more payroll but it might be easier to sign a pitcher instead. Imagine: Podesednik-CF Rowand-LF Konerko-1B Thomas-DH Dye-RF Pierzynski-C Uribe-SS Crede-3B Harris-2B Bench: Gload-1B Perez-OF Burke-C Valdez-IF Buehrle Garcia Clement/Perez Contreras Garland Bullpen: Cotts Adkins Politte Vizcaino Hermanson Marte Takatsu There would have to be room for Evertett and I still don't know what they'll with him, but it would be a sick team. WilliamTell
Carl Everett is in the mix too. Call me crazy but I think Garland is going to have a good year this upcoming year.

Wanne
How bout Reinsdorf selling the team. That'd be a nice move!!!
thomsonmi
Next moves (in the real world) ... Besides signing a quality starting pitcher (which is obviously the next move), I think they look to move Konerko and obtain a left-handed hitting first baseman. The middle of the lineup is still right-handed dominant and Konerko is the easiest of the bunch to replace. This probably doesn't happen until the non-tenders are done and we see who all is available because its unrealistic to think that we will go after Delgado. Though Crede is not the player Konerko is I don't think you can find a left-handed hitting third baseman who is at least equal to Crede. Finally, we need to get a middle infielder like Cora or someone else who is cheap but can fill in and even push Willie and Uribe because I'm not sure we should be counting on Valdez to do that. thomsonmi
Having wasted too much time looking thru the major leagues list of first baseman, I must edit my post... About the only conceivable (realistically worth obtaining) left-handed hitting first baseman out there is Hee Sop Choi. I guess we're stuck with Jurassic as our lefty alternative.
