The Feds have nothing to do with it and keeping Meigs open was contingent on O'Hare Expansion. Since Peter Fitzgerald has held that up and since the Feds and the FAA have nothing to do with Meig's, Daley is within his legal right to do what he did. It's the way that he went about it that has alot of people irked. Absoultely. The gestapo tactics of the Daley Mafia are going to get him into trouble one of these days. They effectively did the samething over soldier field by tearing it up as quick as possible so that any lawsuits were pointless anyway, even if they were valid.
