Mr. Showtime
In thinking about recent trade rumors, I was wondering what poeple thought about prospects. Knowing the Sox history with prospects, would you rather deal hitting, or pitching prospects? Personally myself, I'd rather move the pitching, knowing how most of our guys turn out. Sox1422
Prospects are prospects until proven otherwise. If you can trade a guy who might be good for someone who IS good, you do it. I hate prospects. Especially White Sox prospects...
thedoctor
i've gotten more skeptical of prospects as time has gone by. particularly after hearing how the sox had the best system in the bigs throughout the late 90s, a distinction that earned the team one division title and a bunch of second-place finishes in one of the weakest divisions in baseball. Chisoxfn
Depends who they are getting. It would take a hell of a ballplayer for me to give up Bmac; Anderson I'd part with relatively easily and Sweeney I'd hold onto tightly, but not as tight as Bmac; Munoz, Diaz and Grilli I'd trade if they were getting a serviceable player or solid pitcher or if it was an addition to sweeten the deal for RJ or whomever. Don't think any of them are going to turn into anything special. As far as the rest of the prospects go, they are all available, but just make sure you give up the right ones and for the right players.
