Mr. Showtime
If there was ever any doubt, he's not the PTBNL.. Rotoworld: Athletics acquired infielder Keith Ginter from the Brewers for RHP Justin Lehr and outfielder Nelson Cruz. A's GM Billy Beane hasn't had any luck getting a quality second baseman in the Tim Hudson trade talks, so he picked up some Mark Ellis insurance elsewhere. Ginter, 28, hit .262/.333/.479 in 386 AB last season. He lacks range at second base, but he hits enough to still be an adequate option at the position. Also, he gives the team a nice backup for Eric Chavez. It will be interesting to see what happens if Ellis does show up at 100 percent in the spring. His defense might result in Ginter remaining a part-time player. Dec. 15 - 4:44 pm et

Chisoxfn
Lehr will pitch out of there bullpen. Nothing special, 5 plus ERA last year at the major league level (after numerous years in AA/AAA). Does have solid k/9 ratio. Cruz doesn't look like a major league outfielder at this point. Seems like a very good move by Billy Beane. Cruz did hit over .300 in his first half season in AA (was promoted mid way through or so). Does have some power though, 26 homers in 133 games, but struck out 149 times.
fathom
If this was all it took to get Ginter, I would have liked to see KW give up Adkins in the trade to get Ginter also. I'm really concerned about our 2b position, especially against lhp.

Rowand44
no way i trade adkins for him. he(adkins)is gonna be a good one, potential closer Adkins will most likely not even be in the pen next year, imo.
Chisoxfn
Unless Marte or someone else is moved Adkins will be in Charlotte or (more likely) elsewhere, imo.
Chisoxfn
Probably Munoz. Remember the guy is still very young and was the best pitcher in the Southern League (statistically..arguably though) midway through the season. But I agree and I think the Sox can move any of them in part of a package in there next trade.
A.J.
I thought we got Ginter at first. Did milwaukee change their mind?

Gene Honda Civic
Like Jason said, This would be the equivalent of Felix Diaz and Chris Young. Young's a little farther away than Cruz, but probably has more upside.
Heads22
Hmmm....does anyone have more of a hardon for Young than Jason?

Chisoxfn
BaseballAmerica. Sadly they do. But I don't see why not. The guy plays fantastic defense, is fast as hell, has good power, and draws walks. At worse he's going to be Mike Cameron. Best case he'll be a higher average Mike Cameron
