Im hoping that the Sox will sign Tim Hudson and Eric Gagne
KWs OK for Me
I hope no one else even replies to this! I can't even believe I'm dignifying you with a response.

KWs OK for Me
Doesn't Sosa make the same if not more money than Andruw Jones?
WSFAN35
Sosa's not locked up past next year.

southsider2k5
If he gets traded doesn't his option become guaranteed or is that what the union let him restructure? His option does become guarenteed if he is traded. He could negotiate something, but as dictated by the ARod fiasco, the PA won't allow money to be taken off of the table. YASNY
True ... but Hampton for Sosa saves the Braves about $10 million. Hamton is owed, I think, $43M over 3 years and Sosa $33M or so over two.

Unless they think that Glendon Rusch isn't a good enough 5th starter at 2 yrs/4 mil for the #s he put up last year.

In the Sosa deal the money is not guaranteed and can therefore by reworked I believe in the ARod deal they want to forfeit real/owed money. If the cubs do not pick up the option, sosa does nto get hsi money. How much of the Hampton money are the Braves on the hook for? I think the Marlins and Rockies are covering a good chunck of it. KWs OK for Me
If the Cubs deal Sosa anytime in the near future it will be to Baltimore for Julio and Hairston. But I think this enough of Cubs talk, especially Sosa talk, last time I checked this was a Sox board. I would be happy if I never heard another thing about the Cubs again (except of course that they failed to live up to expectations again and the Curse lives on)

YASNY
Actually, I was looking at it from a Braves perspective. I don't think the Cubs would bite now that it's been brought to my attention. As for Hampton's contract, it's all on the Bravos now. The free ride is over.
