GoodAsGould
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) Anyone know who throws the hardest stuff in the game?? I don't see Bobby Jenks in the game. I got some made up guy, I didnt make him the game did I guess they put some random studs in drafts... anyways he throws a 101 mph screwball. DukeNukeEm
I was making a Fantasy team and got Vlad Guerrero in round 2, but the rest of the draft went to hell so I had to ditch it.
GoodAsGould
QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) I was making a Fantasy team and got Vlad Guerrero in round 2, but the rest of the draft went to hell so I had to ditch it. I kind of had the same thing but I drafted Tejada in the 2nd round and had Vlad in the 1st... also had Adrian Beltre but man those guys cost a lot so ended up shipping away Beltre and this offseason im going to trade away Vlad and Tejada so I can afford to pay my young studs like Oliver Perez money and not have a huge salary. DukeNukeEm
I've seen Tejada around in the 3rd, Peavy around in the 3rd.
DukeNukeEm
Basically I've seen everyone outside of Pedro and Johan in the 2nd.
DukeNukeEm
Deadline move!! It took me forever (I was gunning for him sending offers every "day") and I got Clemens, 1. Smotlz 2. Clemens 3. Oliver Perez 4. Edwin Jackson 5. Sean Burnett I split up the lefties and Jackson has been throwing fire, he's 14-10 with a 3.45 ERA. Smotlzy and Oliver's ERA's are both below 2 and they are 1-2 in Cy Young voting.
Rex Hudler
I have played/simulated through the 2008 season with the White Sox. I didn't do the fantasy draft, I simply started with the current Sox squad and made trades. I have won two World Series (2006 and 2008), lost one (2007) and failed to make the playoffs in 2005. I now have 42,050 seats, including 50 luxury suites and make pretty good money. Have all merchandise venues... I have all of the food specialty stands and at least two of each vendor (3 soda and peanut, I think). During the 2008 playoffs, I was making in the neighborhood of $2.3 million in revenue, netting about $1.8 million per game. My 2009 season opening roster is......... 1B Brad Wilkerson 1B Ryan Sweeney 2B Michael Young 2B Adrian Thomas - comp. player picked up from the Dodgers SS Katie Roy - prospect I created and started at AA SS Jamey Carroll 3B Brett Mercker - comp. player picked up from the Rockies OF Aaron Rowand OF Rocco Baldelli OF Alexis Rios OF Jeff Francoeur OF Brian Anderson C Victor Martinez C Miguel Olivo SP Mark Buehrle SP Felix Hernandez SP Scott Kazmir SP Brandon McCarthy SP Greg Miller RP Chris Watson - comp player picked up from the Braves RP Jeff Bajenaru RP Nick Phillips - comp player up from Sox minor league system SU Shingo Takatsu (my next player to be traded) SU Jason Ginter - comp. player up from Sox minor league system CL Ervin Santana Total MLB and Minor League payroll is around $72 million. I like this team!!
GoodAsGould
my current team I have grown really attached to. C:Michael Barret/Jose Molina(perfect together one hits lefties one righties) 1B:Mark Teixiera 2B:Alfonso Soriano SS:Miguel Tejada 3B:Miguel Cabrera LF:Carl Crawford CF:Vernon Wells RF:Vlad Guerror DH:Willy Taveras(all i do is bunt lol) Starting rotation: Oliver Perez Matt Morris Jeremy Bonderman Aaron Harang some s***box minor league guy Bullpen: Jason Ginter Chad Cordero Brazoban Rafeal Soriano Brandon Lyon JD Durbin Closer:David Arradsma a course my minors are totally stacked with talent with the likes of Felix Pie, Delmon Young, Adam Miller, Justin Verlander, Felix Hernandez, Ryan Sweeney, Casey Kotchman, Jason Kubel, B-Mac and others also in my minors Rickie Weeks and BJ Upton payroll is about 70 million but this off-season im going to trade away Vlad and Tejada clear some payroll and give young guys a chance to shine. GoodAsGould
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) Fair-trades off? no fair trades on, I got Wells by trading Jose Guillen and a less known guy. I had an awesome draft but my payroll was crazy so had to trade the big guys off. traded for Cabrera, Perez, Aaradsma, Wells, Upton, and Soriano. maybe a few others but those were the ones that come to mind. Steve9347
my big complaint about the game is that it is too easy to put together a god team... im in year 2006 after winning the WS in 2005 with virtually the Chicago White Sox. I have all of my important guys signed, yet still ahve 20 million is cap space. I don't want my team to be too good, so here it is. I took on Griffey just for fun and will let him walk in 07 1. Scott Podsednik (.367 BA because of bunt singles,124 SB and MVP in '05) 2. Tadahito Iguchi 3. Frank Thomas (.347, 43 HR, 137 RBI in '05) 4. Ken Griffey, Jr. 5. Teixiera 6. Rowand (.326, 28 HR, 94 RBI in 120 GP in '05) 7. David Wright (.312, 36 HR, 76 RBI in '05) 8. AJ Pierzynski 9. Juan Uribe I have a feeling that I should be sticking with some real Sox, instead of putting together a freak-GOD team with Vlad, Miguel Cabrera and the sort starters buehrle garcia garland brandon mccarthy scott kazmir (with Edwin Jackson in AAA) relievers are a decent group, mostly current sox (hermanson, politte, marte) with others (jorge sosa, matt riley) Closer is Bobby Jenks (97 mph heater with hard curve and a decent change-up) he's 4-5 in save ops in '06 it's fun... I just always like to be more realistic instead of putting together either way, it sucks that this is the FINAL installment of MVP. I hate ESPN Baseball! DukeNukeEm
Are they gonna do anymore Roster Updates?
Steve9347
I'm sure they will, however, once next season starts, they won't be allowed to. The contract will be solely with ESPN and Sega, and EA will be pushed out of the baseball market. It's too bad EA had to get greedy and purchase all NFL rights, because that ruined their chances of getting baseball rights. MVP is such a great game, I will miss the opportunity to purchase new versions.

Steve9347
I play at MVP level, and even cranked up the opponents batting ability. If you play MVP on XBOX live, look me up... I'm Stevo9347, currently ranked number 45 (only because I don't play all the time, but when I do, I win.)
