Anyone gonna see "The Constant Gardner"? The critics are all over it's nuts.

Maybe at the dollar theatre. Can't see myself paying much more for it. Although I think Rachel Weiscz usually does very good movies.

I was kind of excited about "A Sound of Thunder" reading it multiple times when I was a kid and than in high school. I'm a sucker for a time travel movie, but it is getting bad bad reviews. May have to wait for DVD.

Man, tough room. One dollar won't even get you VHS rental nowadays. They're saying Oscar buzz, so it's probably above average to good.

Yeah, but I'm a poor student. Five dollars at the regular theater is a bit much when I can wait a month and see it for a buck.

I'm gonna have a lot of films in here for the next few weeks. I'm taking a Japanese and a pan-Chinese (mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong) cinema course. First movie we watched was Mizoguchi's The Story of the Last Chysanthemum (1939). Interesting movie...long and kinda dull but it had its moments.

The girls and I went and saw 40 year old virgin today. We laughed, we ahhhhhh'ed, we grabbed our boobs to make sure they didn't feel like a bag of sand. :) It was a fun little comedy that is surprisingly sweet (along with really raunchy). All 4 of us really enjoyed it.

I watched The Cooler tonight starring Alec Baldwin, William H. Macy and Maria Bello. It was really great, and the performances from Baldwin as a badass and Macy as a hardluck loser in love were amazing. Anyone who's a fan of Casino or Owning Mahowny must see this right now! It's also got a very original script and interesting takes on characters we've seen before.

'The Cooler' came and went pretty quietly. I enjoyed it remendously. Then again, I think Baldwin is a pretty bad ass actor.

I watched Sin City and Guess Who? last night. Sin City's cinematography was very cool eye candy, but I couldn't really get into the story. I guess you have to have a little background knowledge on the comics or something.

Guess Who? wasn't the greatest thing, but we watched it right after Sin City, and it was a lot lighter and gave you a few laughs.

I just saw The Aristocrats and I had high hopes for it.  Let me just say that I can't believe a movie with so many good comedians telling such dirty jokes can be so awful.  I had never left a movie early in my entire life...until this one.

Thank God I found a guinea pig for this film. I read reviews for it and my understanding was that it was a bunch of different comedians, each telling the SAME dirty joke. The joke has the same punch line each time of course. Supposedly what makes the film awesome, is each comic's build up and all the details before the punch line. That just didn't sound possible and thanks for confirming it.

Here is a link to South Park's version of the joke with Cartman telling it.

WARNING-Link is not work safe and is highly offensive

Cartman tells the Aristocrats

so is that what the movie is like......extremely offensive. :lolhitting

I probably wouldn't find it funny if i saw some comedians doing it.....but since it was SouthPark.....I kinda laughed at it. :banghead

Watched Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome last night and I had forgotten just how cool the Mad Max series is. Mel Gibson is awesome. The beginning is where the majority of the adventure takes place. The characters of the film, like Master Blaster, are what make this movie what it is.

I love it until you leave Bartertown. Then it gets good again...once you get back to Bartertown.

Bruce Spence is a God amonst men. He was even one of the Strangers in Dark City!!! How cool is that???

I see anything that Has Ralph Fiennes in it. He is a very underrated actor. He will be playing Lord Voldemort in the new Harry Potter movie. Great choice.
