LowerCaseRepublican
Just watched the Japanese Kurosawa classic "Yojimbo" (1961). If you're a fan of "Fistful of Dollars" style Westerns, check this film out. Toshiro Mifune again as the badass asskicker in a really cool story. Then watched "Super Size Me" (2004). My brother hadn't seen it. Another pretty damn good film.
KipWellsFan
Just watched Team America last night. Absolutely hilarious 8/10. Gary Johnston: Jesus, this is a nice limo. Spottswoode: Yes, it is. Now suck my cock!... Just kidding.
LowerCaseRepublican
I just got done watching the 1989 version of Batman (with Keaton and Nicholson). I forgot how great a film that was. Nicholson stole that whole damn show for me. And then I watched Sanjuro (1962). If you're a fan of movies like Fistful of Dollars, then you should check it out. Damn good Japanese action film starring the asskicker of all asskickers in cinema -- Toshiro Mifune.
LosMediasBlancas
Saw "Closer" and "Napoleon Dynamite" this weekend. Save your money on both. "Closer" is a book, no reason to make that into a film. "Napoleon D.." is lame, ok I get it, he's a dork, not funny, move on.
The Critic
That was great movie. I guess it's uncommon on here, but I think Will Ferrell's hilarious in everything he does. I thought Will Ferrell was golden on SNL, but he's just not translating to movies for me. Maybe he's not accepting the right roles or whatever, but his movies have left me flat. SoxFan1
Dodgeball is the greatest movie ever! PERIOD. "Donde esta la biblioteca, Pedro?" I'm getting it on DVD for Christmas. Napoleon Dynamite was pretty dumb but hilarious. "So Napoleon, what are you gonna do today? "Whatever I feel like I wanna do, gosh! Idiot!" Elf was pretty good too. Ferrell is hilarious in that movie. "Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?"

SnB
saw it and agree. i wanted so bad to like that movie, i've wanted to see it since the summer, when I finally did see it this week, i was so dissapointed. It had it's moments, but could have been fit into a 1/2 hour and not an hour of absolute crap.

LowerCaseRepublican
Best.Western.Ever Did a paper on it in college, got an A...which was rare for me. I absolutely love High Noon. I dunno about best western ever since I'm a fan of the Good the Bad and the Ugly and Fistful of Dollars but High Noon is still really quite awesome. Plus the political undertones of HN are useful for my future history classroom when I start teaching. For anybody that doesn't know -- one of the writers of the film was being targeted by the House Un-American Activities Committee and High Noon puts the writer in the role of the sheriff getting screwed by Hollywood not defending him against the charges (which actually had no real basis in fact) like the sheriff getting screwed by the town with the outlaws coming to get him. Texsox
I could only make it half way through Napoleon Dynamite and I had to turn it off. Mildly amusing in parts, but then it was just too painful . . . But I did make this Edited December 28, 2004 by Texsox
KipWellsFan
HAHA finally watched The Godfather today. While it seemed basically flawless it never ended up being quite as engaging as I had wished. 9/
LowerCaseRepublican
Just finished "A Fistful of Dollars". It's essentially the Italian/American adaptation of the plot of Yojimbo put into a new setting. Eastwood pulls off a pretty good performance as The Man With No Name. Definitely worth watching.
