Napolean Dynamite = Bad Wes Anderson rip-off but without the intelligence or heart. Terrible movie and all of it's "great lines" are complete throw-aways. I don't understand the following it gets.

Anchorman has it's moments. I would never call that movie "dry".

40 Year Old Virgin could have been great, but the fact that it's running length makes Lord Of The Rings (yes, the whole trilogy) feel like a friggin' Tom and Jerry short hurts it something terrible. I liked it, but by the time it ended I was really ready for it to end.

Talladega is in this category too. I just think its an aquired taste.

Are you kidding me?

I thought it was pretty short and felt they rushed the fact everyone found out he was a virgin. I tried to watch LOTR: Two Towers or whatever, but I fell asleep twice during one viewing of the movie.

I'll give you that. I haven't seen Talladega, but it does look to be very similar to Anchorman. Same team, right? Anchorman is definitley in its own style.

Nope, I'm not kidding at all. This isn't a praise of LOTR, though I did enjoy them the first time I saw them. I just felt that Virgin really dragged by the end.

On a side note, a buddy and I were talking the other day about characters in films. Does anybody else feel that the "Steve The Pirate" character in Dodgeball is one of the most pointless characters ever devised for a movie?

I was warned but I went and saw it anyway. 'Apocalypto' is unfortunately nothing more than a jungle action movie. Graphic violence and absurd situations, I'm shocked it hasn't grossed a trillion dollars.

C'mon KG, didn't you wet your pants during the dance scene in Napoleon Dynamite?

Grandma just called and said you're supposed to go home. She says she doesn't want you here when she gets back because you've been ruining everybody's lives and eatin' all our steak.

Throw-away line?? I think not! :headbang

Rocky Balboa was good. Not great but good. One thing though, I didn't hate Mason Dixon. Yes, he was cocky and disrespectful at times, but in a way was like Rocky in a sense that everyone doubted him, even though he was the champion.

Good character movie actually.

saw the good shephard today. This film made me very uncomfortable, which wasn't a bad thing, a bit wearisome at 2.5 hours, but a very interesting film. There was no real good guy, the protagonist had many moral dillemas and internal problems, and the entire film was shot as if the audience was spying in on the action itself. De Niro never really shot damon in any close up shots, which gave the aura that he was left alone or a bit awkward in the world he was often trying to save. The only time he really fit in was around people trying to deceive him. Good flick, may get mixed reviews, and I'll probably be able to identify them, but to me the weaknesses did not bother me (e.g. the father problem not being fully developed imo)

4/5

I finally saw Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Overall, it was entertaining. Not all of it was funny, but it certainly had it's moments. I love Walker & Texas Ranger.

It might be a little out of the late 1990s, but am I the only one who thinks Eyes Wide Shut to be one of the worst pieces of crap ever?

Actually, I enjoyed it. Reminded me of one of the 90's most underappreciated horror films, "The Ninth Gate."

I'm partial to movies which establish an unsettling atmosphere for viewers. Even if the story is utter nonsense, I enjoy the feeling of dread or mystery which develops around a character. I believe 'Eyes Wide Shut' successfully created such a setting. One major problem I had was the ending. It casted doubt over the entire film. Almost made it appear as a joke. Remove that from my memory I would have enjoyed it furthur.

Just got back from Rocky. I liked it cause I like all of them but it wasn't great. 4th or 5th best of the series imo.

We just got back from seeing it and loved it. It was exactly what it was supposed to be. Slurred speech, bad acting by the stupid ass unappreciative son, and an ending that was as realistic as it could be in Hollywood. Way better than 5, on par with 4 but I give this one the edge because of the flashbacks.

Anyone seen a Borat DVD release date

No clue but the guy who plays the producer was on Loveline a few weeks ago and said there would be 5 hours of footage they couldn't/didn't use.
