The Critic
I saw Rocky Balboa tonight - eh. Wasn't great, didn't suck. Pretty forgettable, though.

Middle Buffalo
"Pursuit of Happyness" is really depressing. Something bad happens to Will Smith (who's really quite good) in every scene for 2 hours, but there is a 5 minute long happy ending. I couldn't wait for the movie to end. NUKE_CLEVELAND
New movie "Children of Men" coming out this week looks REALLY good. Its basically about how mankind has lost the ability to reproduce and how civilization begins to collapse........until its found that someone is pregnant. I cant wait for Friday so I can go see it. Agreed. Although, I thought that if they cut out about 30 minutes of the depressing crap, it would have been a decent movie. It was way too long anyways. What the film doesn't cover is his childhood, by the time the film takes over, believe it or not, his life is actually changing for the better. Unfortunately, there are many, many people who live their entire lives with that kind of bad luck. It's not as easy to get out of a circle pf poverty as some people would like to believe. That's why his story is so remarkable. Great story, so-so film.

BobDylan
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 2, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) Saw the movie "Closer" today. Very good. Very, very good. Mike Nichols will never, ever...ever, never, ever be able to match The Graduate. I thought it was decent, but I loathe Julia Roberts. I like Natalie Portman, but that wasn't enough I guess. Brian
At first I kind of blew off "Alpha Dog", but than saw Nick Cassavettes directed it and the trailer makes it look interesting. I'll check it out when it comes back.

Gregory Pratt
Have seen Cellular, Internal Affairs and Parenthood. Liked IA best. I really liked IA. Cellular was damn good and Parenthood was, too. Very fun movies, all of them. But IA was REAL good, IMO.

I agree. Saw it at the theaters, you wouldn't be pissed at giving up 4 bucks for it. Have not been able to find anything even remotely interesting at the video store lately. Any recommendations? Gregory Pratt
I walked into a Chinese porn-video shop today. My girlfriend and I were walking through Chinatown and on the window of this video store I noticed that it said, "Audlt videos" and I said, "Uh, okay? Is that -- porn, or a typo?" and I said, "Come with me," and Anne said, "I've got coffee!" and I said, "Wait here." I came out and said, "Wow, that's f***ed up," because I looked around the store and there was a six pack of beer in the corner, by the videos. There was porn all over, and it all had the dirtiest feel, like a sex shop, or a human-trafficking store. Got out of there soon thereafter. But no, I don't have any movie recommendations for you. Except, I suppose, the movies I've watched. Internal Affairs is damn good, if you haven't seen it and are up for something from 1990.

SoxFan1
Ordered The DaVinci Code last night. The book was so much better. It would have been impossible to take everything from the book and put it in a relativley watchable time length. People who didn't read the book and watch the movie will like it. History buffs will like it. People who read the book will either hate it or think it's ok. I thought it was OK.

I can recall three times I've talked about something sexxxy on this site, and one of them was quite a while back. The other was prompted by someone else's sexxxy talk, and the most recent one -- the reference to the Chinese porno shop in Chinatown -- wasn't sexxxy talk so much as, "That was a f***ed up shop," talk. So I'm not sure what you're talking about and reject your characterization.
