southsideirish71
A.J. plays the game hard," Gardenhire said. "Some guys can't handle that. We've all played against guys who want to knock your block off. Unless he's on your team, you don't like that guy. "You know how the guys on this team feel about me. They know I'd run through a wall for them. That's all that really matters." "A.J.'s one of those guys. We like the way he plays. If he gets under other players' skins, then they're not concentrating on their games." "I don't try to make other teams mad," Pierzynski said. "But when I'm on the field, I'm not really trying to make them happy, either. Whatever helps you win." "I guess I do things that other teams don't like, but I'm not trying to bother them on purpose. I'm just trying to win the game. "A.J's a throwback. He doesn't care whether the other team likes him. He pays for it, by getting hit so often. But those teams pay for it when he comes around to score, and I think he'll take that. After Wednesday's game, Pierzynski was hitting .364 in the postseason. Tuesday night, Joe Mays credited Pierzynski with helping him through a dominating Game 1 victory. Sounds like the correct attitude to me. Maybe he wouldnt of gotten run over by Torii last year. Just a thought.

So he wouldn't have tried to make a play on the ball? I don't understand how ANY catcher doesn't get hit. Your logic doesn't add up.
