Kalapse
Rotoworld's analysis: And that's all 41 non-tenders. Since Davis made $1.4 million last season, the White Sox didn't want to go to arbitration with him. However, they could try to re-sign him for right about what he made last year. The alternative would be to make a run at Jason Varitek or A.J. Pierzynski.

chisox2334
Guys just let you know most teams are not looking at davis. Remember he was backup in seattle and his little stint here didnt really get teams jumping on bandwagon on him
southsideirish71
Again its ESPN board chatter, but on the SF and Minny boards they have made comments about hearing local radio reports of AJ signing a 2 year deal here. Until I see it I dont believe it. But non tendering Davis without a parachute is too stupid for even KW. So it lends credence to the fact that AJ might be a member of the pale hose. redandwhite
I don't think this means Pierzynski is a "lock" by any means. This just means when Davis is signed it will be for less than the 1.5-plus he'd have recieved through arbitration. He will most likely be resigned in the 750,000-1,000,000 range.
