LDF
i copied this from some site and i don't remember who. but i thought it will be interesting reading. Micah Schnurstein - 3B - DOB: 7/18/84 - ETA: 2007 Notes: Schnurstein is the lone prospect (I'd like to think) I overlooked in my trip to Arizona for the summer rookie league. While I missed seeing "the Schnur" in action, his performance speaks for itself. In 205 at bats, the third baseman hit .332 BA/ .373 OBP/ .512 SLG. Most impressively, he smacked 26 doubles, boding well for future power development. The 18-year old won't impress anyone with his defense or baserunning, but if he can become more patient at the plate he could develop into a very good player. He'll get his first taste of full-season play this year and we will have a better idea of his future at this time next year
Chisoxfn
I saw Micah fielding grounders during spring train and he seemed to have very smooth hands. He's still learning 3rd, considering he is a former second baseman, but this guy and Valera are both really good 3rd base prospects. Last season was one of the best drafts for the Sox, position wise that I can think of. They did pretty good on the arms too, although I'm hoping for a real good arm draft this year. Jim Fainter
LDF. Thanks for that report. Schnurstein is one of our most interesting prospects. I did not know that he converted from second base. Seems like he would have a better chance there to move quickly up the ladder. Do you know when the Rookie League (Bristol) season starts?
