KevHead0881
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1951346 Boy, if the Yankees sign Beltran, it basically comes down to Magglio being the best OF available.
Wise Master Buehrle
Five years for JD Drew!?!?! Dodgers = OWNED Boras is a freak.
danman31
I don't think the 5 years part is the worry as much as the 11 mill is. He has had only 1 bad year outside of his rookie year. However, I don't think his numbers warrant 11 mill per. He's only 29, I don't see why 5 years is too much.
Molto
11 mil, 5 years for a guy who misses 20 or so games a year and has yet to drive in 100 runs. one of the more overrated guys out there.
CWSGuy406
Good. I was really worried that the Cubs were going to make an attempt to land this guy. I think when healthy, he's one of the best hitters in baseball. Definitely didn't want to see him in Cubby pinstripes...

He's a pretty big injury risk. There is no way he should have even sniffed 5 years. 11 million is pretty outrageous too. He's never hit more than 100 RBI's in a season. LowerCaseRepublican
And in a move that does not need its own thread, Joe "Sox Killer" Randa is now on the Reds...1 yr./2.15 mil deal.

Gene Honda Civic
If I was a mod in this forum, I'd edit the title to just say "Drew to the Doctors".

redandwhite
It's amazing that the Dodgers weren't able to offer Beltre a deal worth the same as what they gave for Drew. Depodesta... :rolly

Depodesta... :rolly Honestly..I'd rather have Drew. I'm very skeptical that Beltre ever has a season close to that again.
