Texsox
Ah so I see you got my Christmas presant Tex? I hope you enjoyed it. Shipping last minute was a b****! Very nice. One size fits all I see. It did help my morning assembly dilema. I knew my daughter would want the trampoline assembled and my son all the new hardware for his PC. The snow kept me inside for a few hours until it melted. So thank you and let me offer the special south Texas snow salute :finger
sox4lifeinPA
Merry Christmas my friend. How have you been? I've been good. Life in PA is nice. I might be going to Minneapolis for the Twins opener with the Sox, cos my bro lives there. I'm in Texas right now until the 31st. I'm never flying through ORD again. What a crappy airport. And don't even get me started on United Airlines. glad to see the sox land some pitchers. Maybe we'll come in second to the Indians this year. sox4lifeinPA
O'Hare=2nd worst airport. Detroit is the absolute worst. After sitting for an hour on the runway trying to taxi in and not being able to reach the gate because a plane was broken down, I strangely remembered a Southsider story of utter disaster at ORD. Rex Kickass
Detroit Wayne is God Awful, and their customs area is reminiscent of a third world country airport. You are randomly stopped by customs agents for no real reason, and you are crammed into a small area that's so packed, you can hardly figure out where the customs lines are. That plus 8.50 for a beer in the International Terminal lounge that looks like the Regal Beagle set from 3's Company... and it looks like it hadn't been dusted or cleaned since the show got cancelled either. The domestic terminals at O'Hare has become significantly less pleasant since 9/11 because increased security apparatus has made it much more difficult for passengers and families of ticketed passengers to move around in the main concourses. Plus, if you're waiting for family to arrive - its about impossible to get a drink in the damn place. The United terminal is not bad at all, although the security lines could be managed much better. In contrast, the International Terminal, which was built with security needs in mind during the mid 1990s, is about the best designed international airport I've ever flown in or out of, including JFK. Plenty of space for the passengers on both sides of the checkpoints, plenty of places to eat - and you can still get a 5 dollar beer, last time I checked. That and it has some of the closest parking to the terminal that you can get in the U.S.
