2004 could be the worse year for earthquake related deaths since 1556 when an earthquake in China killed over 800,000 people.

 

The other interesting thing is that the Indian Ocean quake was remeasured at an incredible 9.3 on the richter scale.

I believe its economically good because now all the businesses have to rebuild and there is a lot of money being poured into the effort. So lots of businesses are reaping the rewards for this...not saying its a good thing but it seems to be the way of things..like the old saying "Destruction breeds creation".

Yeah, what kind of shape were some of these countries' economies, before the disaster. Have they ever had that much loot pumping in?
