CWSGuy406
ChicagoBears.com Link Definitely a good move. Brad should have been the lone Bear voted to the Pro-Bowl this year, as he's definitely had an awesome year. As much as the defense has impressed, part of their success is due to the position that Maynard gives them, consistently, too. Definitely this years' MVP of the Bears, no question in my mind. Congrats, Brad!
Jake
That reminds me, I heard somewhere that Kreutz definitely did not deserve to go to the Pro Bowl this year, supposedly being a weak link of our offensive line this year.
Scwible
Good, I like Maynard as our punter. Hopefully next year we won't have to see him on the field so much. 12 times in a game is way too much.
YASNY
QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) That reminds me, I heard somewhere that Kreutz definitely did not deserve to go to the Pro Bowl this year, supposedly being a weak link of our offensive line this year. Kruetz felt like he didn't deserve a Pro Bowl nod. But the weak link? I don't think so.

Chisoxmatt
I have always liked Brad Maynard. I am glad he is on the Bears. I like never needing to worry about our punter screwing up. He is very consistent.
hammerhead johnson
QUOTE (YASNY @ Jan 1, 2005 -> 07:39 AM) Kruetz felt like he didn't deserve a Pro Bowl nod. But the weak link? I don't think so. Yeah, Kreutz is recognized as one of the three best centers in all of football, but throughout this past season, he has played like he doesn't belong in the Top 15. Just an off-year, I'm hoping. He has been flagged for a s***load of penalties...very uncharacteristic.
Chisoxfn
I think part of it has to do with him having to step up so much due to the retards lined up around him.

SoxAce
A-Train knows he's done as a Bear. AP reports RB Anthony Thomas knows he has played his last game for the Bears, even if the season finale against the Green Bay Packers isn't until Sunday at Soldier Field. He was dropped from No. 2 on the depth chart behind starter RB Thomas Jones to No. 3 behind Jones and RB Adrian Peterson in the Bears' loss Sunday to the Detroit Lions. The man called A-Train will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. "I'm through,'' Thomas said, referring to his career with the Bears. "They explained it. They have to build for next year.''

knightni
I fail to see the excitement over signing a long term deal with an old, inconsistent punter. He was almost cut in training camp a couple of years ago.

Yep -- Maynard is a good punter in a place where he's gonna get a lot of work. At least he'll be earning his money, haha.

I tended to shut off the games pretty early this year. I'm never gonna join the "Yay, punter!" bandwagon. There are better ways to spend money than on Maynard. :headshake
