Recommended Posts

IF THE CARDS LOSE THEY WILL BE AHEAD OF US AND WE WILL BE 5TH.

IF THE BUCS WIN THE CARDINALS WILL MOVE BEHIND US, BUT IT IS POSSIBLE WE MAY MOVE TO #4. IT WILL BE VERY CLOSE FOR US AND THE BUCS WITH THE SOS. THE TEAM WITH THE LOWER SOS WILL GET THE 4TH SPOT.

That was from Mouse over at Nfl-Fans

Go Cards!!!! :headbang

i say we draft Mike Williams... and then in 2nd round get Maurice Clarrett..or mebe Kyle Orton he would be nice to have if grossman goes down.... knowing our GM we take Derick Johnson from Texas though... idont think they care about how bad our offense was

Yeah Angelo already said that we might go D. So dont be suprised if we get Johnson in the draft. I think we'll go OT in the 2nd round.

I was just kidding about him. I was reading on one of the mock boards the Bears might take an OT, which would be smart. Will Williams still be around at 5 or 6???

Well looking at the teams that might be ahead of us:

49ers-QB

Browns-CB

Titans-Def (Edit) or OL

Fins-RB

Cards-RB

Im worried bout TB getting ahead of us and picking Williams. Besides that the only other team i think that will look at williams is Tenn.

Kurt Warner might be starting for Arizona next year.

But they might still pick a QB. Warner isnt going to be around forever.

Whoever they draft in the 1st, I know this much, it wont be a WR. They got Fitz and Boldin. Theyre good at the WR spot.

well if maurice clarrett wont go 2nd how bout a draft of 1st Mike Williams... 2nd round Orton(Insurance if Grossman sucks or goes down).. and then 4th or 5th take Clarrett.. who can use 1 season to backup thomas jones and get back in NFL shape...and than be our starter the season after.

Or this scenario could take place.. Draft DJ from Texas first round.. 2nd take an OL guy and then off of free agency a guy like porter, muhamed, burress... im pretty sure all those guys are FA's and then let hutchinson be the backup

Well, we're in a good position.

I still contend that when our defense is healthy, it will be damn good -- and it will have yet another year of experience, so that's always good.

The kid from Texas, that linebacker, is really good. Awesome. He, Briggs, and Urlacher would form the best linebacking core in the NFL, no questions asked.

Mike Williams would be a good pick too. I ranted a couple of weeks ago on how much of a weapon a really good wide receiver is, and Williams is just that.

If there's a stud LT -- Gallery like, someone that emerges as the best tackle in the draft -- then I'd definitely grab that person. Unfortunately, my knowledge of the college ranks isn't so great this season.

BTW -- one more thing, and I know this will probably be a very unpopular opinion on this board, but here goes. I'd be happy if this team kept David Terrell around. I realize that there are up-and-comers in Berrian and possibly Gage, but Terrell, at least this year, seemed like the only WR who could make the big play. Once he got used to Hutchinson, too, he seemed capable of being a damn good possesion receiver.

If they take Williams, I won't mind if they cut DT loose. But I don't see anyone ready to step in and take that starters' job from Terrell -- Gage is nowhere near ready (hell, how a team cannot get a guy who can jump that high is beyond me), and while Berrian is close (should be the #3 next season), he's not ready. Wade is a nice guy to have around, too, but he's not your number one. He's the possession guy, good hands, doesn't run extremely fast/jump very high, but he's a very nice number two/number three.

I went to the game today. Don't really want to talk about it, but the Bears didn't give us refunds. Six hours (Houston and GB) of freezing my ass off and watching that garbage. I need to puke...
