olp_nch
I saw on ESPN that Perez just resign with the Dodgers for 3 years $24 million. I know the Sox have been out of that running for awhile now, but man the market for good starting pitchers is way to enflated. I can't belive what kind of cash these guys are bring in. Perez was only 7-6 with a 3.25 ERA. Not bad be any means, but not worth that kinda of cash IMO.

Your right, 8 mil a year is to much but his record should have been much better. He had so many no descisions (18).
Jabroni
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...ort=MLB&id=6088 Latest News Jan. 4, 2005 - 6:01 pm et Odalis Perez will re-sign with the Dodgers for $24 million over three years, ESPNews reports. At one point in the offseason, it had seemed like offers for Perez may top out at about $5 million per season. This is more in line with what he deserves compared to what Russ Ortiz, Eric Milton and Kris Benson received. Staying with the Dodgers should allow him to keep posting sub-4.00 ERAs through the end of the deal. With Perez joining Jeff Weaver and Brad Penny, there are now two rotation spots open for Edwin Jackson, Kazuhisa Ishii, Elmer Dessens and Wilson Alvarez. The Dodgers still could add another pitcher to guarantee that both Dessens and Alvarez will work out of the pen initially. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...ort=MLB&id=6406 Latest News Jan. 4, 2005 - 6:41 pm et Dodgers re-signed outfielder Milton Bradley to a one-year contract. Bradley, who made $1.73 million last season, was again eligible for arbitration. He'll act as the Dodgers' center fielder and bat either second or fifth this season. Fifth is more likely even though he'll have a better OBP than Cesar Izturis and Jayson Werth, the favorites to hit at the top of the lineup. I wonder if the Dodgers have any money left for Pierzynski now after re-signing Perez and Bradley. I'm hoping that they don't and that AJP will sign with us. He may be a cancer but he can hit. I can't say the same for Ben Davis.
ChWRoCk2
i saw that couple minutes ago, not too suprised there, i dont think the dodgers will sign aj though, everyone keeps forgetting about david ross, this guy has potential and seems like the dodgers are willing to give him a shot

LosMediasBlancas
You can thank the Benson deal for all that, it set the bar up high. If you really want a guy you usually HAVE to over pay.
DBAHO
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) Lowe has really kinda flown under the radar this off-season. Is he still supossed to end up with the Tigers??? Lowe still thinks he can get 4 years @ 40 million. The Tiggies ain't biting.

YASNY
I think Lowe is in for a rude awakening. Millwood also, btw.

The O's could have been one of the teams to overpay for either possibly, but they won't if they acquire Vazquez from the D-Backs.
