May I ask who?

Dr. Gentile here at Iowa State. Talked about the effects of media on children. Didn't necessarily agree with all he said, but it's definitley more interesting in a setting of 15 people.

On New York's Upper West Side lived an assimilated Jew who was a militant atheist. But he sent his son to Trinity School because, despite its denominational roots, it’s a great school and completely secular. After a month, the boy comes home and says casually, “By the way Dad, do you know what ‘Trinity’ means? It means the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.”

The father can barely control his rage. He seizes his son by the shoulders and declares, “Danny, I’m going to tell you something now and I want you never to forget it. There is only one God. AND we don’t believe in Him!”

Cancer sucks.

If something hurts people.. go get it checked out. Don't f*** with life. You will lose.

Yes it does.

Such a non-discriminatory disease too, it really drives jome what a crap shoot life and death is sometimes. Two of my grandparents died from cancer, like millions of average folks. But when the second richest guy in the world (Sam Walton) can't save himself despite his wealth it tells you how far we still need to go with the research.

My aunt is fighting breast cancer.  It's been tough on her.

At least there is hope for her with the advances in treatments for breast cancer. Good success rate.

I'll pray for her QP.

Stinky Butt died yesterday while I was heading to the game. Brian said about an hr after I left, he heard a loud squeaky(s) and looked over and said the other 3 hamsters were awake and looking at his cage for a minute or two and then went back to sleep. I guess that was their way of saying by to him.

RIP Stinky!

I'm sorry to read this. :crying

My daughters hamster bit her last night and broke skin for the first time. Maybe Speedy knew something was up?

Seriously though, when she got bit, I actually thought to myself "I wonder how Stinky is doing". I really am sorry. My cat Roadie passed away two weeks ago yesterday, and it still hurts. She was my best friend and my first roomie. I understand what you're feeling, just hang in there.

Also sorry to hear about Stinky, QP.

You don't know it, but your affection for hamsters actually made me get one for the kids after being out of the rodent pet thing for 25 years. We have a very friendly teddy bear named Squirmy who I admit I enjoy having around as much as the kids. The 5 Cat Army isn't sure why we brought them such a delicious looking morsel only to keep them away from it, but they are starting too realize that hamsters are friends not food. The cats have now moved on to staring endlessly at the tank in my daughter's room with her pet turtles in it.
