NBA Off-Season Signings

Recommended Posts

Following on with Hammer's thread about the most improved player, I'd thought I would start a thread about who everyone thought the best and worst off-season free agent signings were.

For me, Hedo Turkoglu would be the best value wise. For the mid - level exception, he's averaging 13.4 points, 3.5 boards and shooting really well from the perimeter. Bob Sura, Eddie Griffin and Lee Nailon are others that come to mind.

The worst off-season free agent signing would have to be Adonal Foyle and his 6 year $40 million deal,.

If the Bulls didn't sign Noc, I'm sure they probably would have gone after Turk a little more. They could go a lot of ways with the mid level exception next off-season though. A backup big man, a spot up shooter off the bench, a backup guard for Kirk.

Yeah, the Bulls will have a lot of flexability this upcoming offseason.

The Nocioni signing is starting to piss me off, well Nocioni is starting to piss me off.

Once the guy learns English I'm sure he'll improve. Can't expect him to come into the NBA and produce straight away. At least the Bulls have a 9 man rotation and most guys seem to be doing their job.

The best, from this pool (including sign & trades):

Carlos Boozer, Cleveland Signed with Utah

Mehmet Okur, Detroit Signed with Utah

Damon Jones, Milwaukee Signed with Miami

Rafer Alston, Miami Signed with Toronto

Rasheed Wallace, Pistons Re-signed

Maurice Williams, Utah Signed with Milwaukee

Emanuel Ginobili, San Antonio Re-signed

Jamal Crawford, Chicago Re-signed; traded to New York

Kenyon Martin, New Jersey Re-signed; traded to Denver

Quentin Richardson, L.A. Clippers Signed with Phoenix

Steve Nash, Dallas Signed with Phoenix

Jason Hart, San Antonio Signed with Charlotte

Brevin Knight, Milwaukee Signed with Charlotte

Hedo Turkoglu, San Antonio Signed with Orlando

The worst:

Adonal Foyle, Golden State Re-signed

Derek Fisher, L.A. Lakers Signed with Golden State

Erick Dampier, Golden State Re-signed; traded to Dallas

Brian Cardinal, Golden State Signed with Memphis

Rodney Rogers, New Jersey Signed with New Orleans

If it involves Golden State, it's usually the worst. Unfortunately, there are so many to choose from.

Also, even though it has nothing to do with this thread, here's a short list of players whom the Warriors have drafted or discovered since 1999:

Antawn Jamison 99

Larry Hughes 00

Gilbert Arenas 02

It's the, umm, Washington Warriors.

Richardson, Murphy, and Pietrus will be gone soon enough.
