knightni
Has inconsistency this season caused the Bears to look elsewhere for a kicker for 05-06?
YASNY
QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) Has inconsistency this season caused the Bears to look elsewhere for a kicker for 05-06? More than likely.
LDF
maybe, i think they will bring in serious competition for him

knightni
I always liked the guy. I hope he can fix whatever is wrong in training camp.
Chisoxfn
Toast in my book. Its all between the ears too. On a sidenote the Bears signed Nick Setta and sent him to NFLE. I always thought he had a great leg and could turn into a good NFL kicker.
knightni
Setta has had Kaeding disease. He can't kick balls on an angle well... Straight on, he does fine, but to the right or left of the hashmark, the kick goes wide.
Kogs35
if there going to get rid of ediger pleaseeeeeeeee preety please draft mike nugent
Credepopsup
I think he's gone, the Bears can't continue to pay that sort of money - $1.1 million next year - for a kicker who's had the kind of year he's had.
chisox05
The only guy that IMO would be an improvement is NGUG!!!!!!!!! Mike Nugent of the buckeyes. He is a clutch kicker(doesnt feel pressure) has a great leg and overall good accuracy.
Palehosefan
The question is would it be worth it to draft a kicker in the top 3 rounds? Or would you rather give Edinger another chance or sign another kicker? Thats a tough decision. Unless the Bears don't have alot of needs and can afford to draft a kicker that early, I don't know the Bears strengths and weaknesses very well. WHarris1
No, not worth a top 3 round pick for sure. Considering they don't have a 3rd, don't pick a K that early.
Soxfest
He will have competition big time

Was gonna throw this name out there as well. Best kicker in college, easily. Could probably kick 60 yarders.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) Has inconsistency this season caused the Bears to look elsewhere for a kicker for 05-06? I defenitely think the Bears could do better than him. He flat out blew ass last season.
santo=dorf
I remember Setta playing for Lockport seeing him nailing field goals from the 50 yard line during warmups.
southsider2k5
Edinger is probably toast. I just don't like the fact that his routine is so much longer and more complex than other kickers. To me it just means that there are more chances of something going wrong during a kick.
bjam44
In High School you can kick off a block..... setta did have problems with angles, maybe he can work them out in NFLE. never the less big changes need to be made in the kicker department
