cwsox
just got back to my home away from home and the two hour wait with all the thunder and lightening and rain was done purely by faith - I have never been rained out since I first went to Comiskey in 1966 and I wasn't going to give up today! attendance paid was 40,3something but I don't know if there were 15,000 at game time - by that time all the lines were short and the game was great and it never got any colder and what a fun time we had - only die hards were there at the first pitch the fans who were there were really into it and was one of the more fun opening days that I have ever been to! anyone who left before the game

clujer420
JR does not care he got 40,000 ticket money I bet he is happy as hell. Of course he cares. If 25,000 of the people who paid didn't stay for the game or didn't bother showing up at all, that means 25,000 less sodas, beers, nachos, burgers, etc were sold. Games played on days with weather like Friday's are horrible for revenue, regardless of what the paid attendance is.

cwsox
RPS, thinking is not your strong point! After about an hour I tunred into to 1000 and heard them talking about a clearing tat was coming so we knew the game would be played - at least that is what we told the one guy in our group who wanted to leave, telling him no way I have never been rained out! I refuse to accept rain! The thunder sounded awesome as it resonated through the upper deck concourse!
SoxFan1
i live 10 minutes from Us. Celllular and about 30 minutes before gametime (3:05 pm CT) it was raining so hard that my rooof almost caved in! That was a bit of an exxaguration but it was raining hard as hell! At least we got the game in at about 4:45 and got a win from the Sox! How about that 2nd inning though. Crede's shot was a BLAST! We got hit after hit after hit. Finally, the Sox season has begun!
