Chisoxfn
Personally I think the media is completely blowing that incident out of proportion. If they want to talk about Moss, talk about him walking off the field the week before with 2 seconds left against the Redskins. Don't talk about him celebratin after two touchdown dances. I also love how the media fails to mention a Packer tradition in which many of the fans moon the bus as it leaves lambeu following a Packer victory. Moss was just giving a little back and its not like he mooned him. Personally I thought it was actually one of the few times I had some respect for Moss, who while amazingly talented is an assclown, but this past playoff game isn't the reason he's an assclown, imo. Personally I hate Randy Moss but I have to admit that I died laughing when he did that to the FudgePacker fans. I also love the way that in the 10 minutes or so before Moss caught that TD pass the announcers were going on and on about how Moss had a bum ankle and that one guy could handle him easily. Well, they left one guy on him and he got faked out of his cleats and burnt for a score that broke the game open. I have to give credit where it's due and personally I dont think he could have done what he did to a better group of people.
Capn12
Personally, I see it as just something the media wants to throw out there and further make Moss look like a thug. Now, don't get me wrong, Moss is a top flight moron in terms of everything but his football abilities, but I respect his football abilties enough. And all of this coming from a Packer fan, someone who hates the Vikings with a passion. Media, get over yourself, and this will all blow over much easier. YASNY
One of these days, someone like Moss is going to go too far and he'll be lucky to get off the field alive. Seriously. Didn't the Pacers/Piston incident teach these idiots anything?
Texsox
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 01:31 AM) One of these days, someone like Moss is going to go too far and he'll be lucky to get off the field alive. Seriously. Didn't the Pacers/Piston incident teach these idiots anything? It isn't just the home team fans that pay for all this. Have a little class and respect, act like a professional. I'm old and cranky, but my every thought when viewing that was negative. Negative about him, about the Vikings organization, and about the NFL if they allow that. Negative about him, about the Vikings organization, and about the NFL if they allow that. I agree. I'm hearing a lot about the Super Bowl fiasco and the TO Monday Noght thing, in comparison to this. To me that's not the issue. It was just simply an attention grabbing, classless stunt and the NFL needs to fine his ass HEAVILY. It was premeditated, as opposed to Plummer popping the bird. Nail him Tagliabue.
CanOfCorn
Premeditation isn't the only thing that should be measured here. TO and the Sharpie was premeditated, but was celebratory. Also, Joe Horn and the cell phone. Classless, maybe, but all pro sports are hanging on an edge, some more than others. And for one of your so called, stars is pretending to moon the fans at a hostile stadium, LIVE ON CAMERA, then rubbing your ass on the Packers name, that's just not smart. Eventually, there will be a backlash from all of this...someone will go too far and fans will stop going to games. Not all fans, but enough to hurt the leagues. If the fans moon the team bus, then moon them back from the bus. Personally, I liked that he was pointing at the scoreboard when the packer fans were on him. That's the best way to get back at any opposing fan (if you're winning).

Queen Prawn
When did players become like this? I don't remember (maybe I just didn't pay that much attention back them) guys like Walter Payton doing stuff like this.

He'd hand the ball to referee when he got to the end zone ... You know, like he'd been there before.

When rookie and minimum contracts are in excess of $300,000, and the average joe is earning $30,000, how are we supposed to even try to relate to these guys. Respect is earned, not given like a paycheck.

WilliamTell
I didn't think this was all bad, but it's just Moss himself. I hear about anything he does and it just annoys me. Maybe I should move or something.

I was young too, but I remember Flutie (I think it was him) throwing his first NFL TD pass to Walter and Flutie wanted the ball back from the fan. The fan asked for playoff tickets. (Yes, The Bears went to the playoffs). I don't know if the fan gave the ball back. When they interviewed him he was playing catch with it. Soxbadger
Its lame that the announcers get so after Randy. I mean faux mooning, most 7 year olds have seen way worse things in the Austin Power's marathon that they probably catch on TBS. And a fan shooting some one? Why would you blame the player? Its the "pyscho" fans fault, and notice how the phrase pyscho means that they are unstable to begin with. No rational human would shoot some one, over being mooned as a fan. And as a player I would have no fear of a fan running onto the football field. I have pads, they have most likely nothing. As soon as their foot touches the field, you can say "I was afraid they were going to attack me" as soon as your fear is reasonable, you can defend yourself. I doubt many fans are going to be getting into fights with 200-300 lb football players. I think it was one of the funnier things Ive seen a football player do.
