JUGGERNAUT
You missed the boat entirely on the question. I didn't say compare injuries. I said compare the payrolls of their injured players. KW has had to face a loss of betw 30-40% of the payroll from 2001-2004 to injury. Min has not. Min has lost at best 10-20%. That means Min was in a better position to deal with those injuries than the Sox.
TheBlackSox8
Minny's injuries had nowhere near the effect on their team as the Sox's injuries had last year. Not to mention that Minny's Pen broke out and had consistant pitching....and the fact they didn't have Billy Koch and Mike Jackson on their team. Let me guess, Jerry Manuels?
TheBlackSox8
it was ozzie's fault to play jackson....not KW's....it was Jackson's fault that he sucked so bad....same goes with Koch

YASNY
Saying the Ordonez and Lee "don't count" isn't quite right because KW was a key part of the organization. That being said, it also helps condemn KW. He's only been GM for 4 years, and it takes time to build a quality minor league system. Since he was part of the organization prior to being GM, he has to accept part of the blame that in recent years we have not seen, in general, successful promotions to the majors. The fact that he was not "in charge" gives him some wiggle room in the responsibility issue. However, time is running out. Some of these kids have to start stepping up and succeeding. This is including the kids he's acquired in trades. Harris, Cotts, Adkins, etc ... are all on KW.

If the keep sucking it up..they aren't learning anything.

If the keep sucking it up..they aren't learning anything. Well, you have to give a kid the time to learn, then prove, whether or not they can handle the majors. For example, it has been said of a couple of our young pitchers that it's hoped they never pitch for the Sox again, or start, or whatever. yet, we've had guys get pulled up from AA, given one start. Then sent back down and in some minds here they become equal to the value of a pile of s***. That's nucking futs.
