shakes
I know its early, before the all star games and combines, but some of these just do not make sense. Have you found any other early projections? Anyone else think the Bears will trade down?

Football's Future EDIT: I should have my first mock draft of the season up on Monday; I'm still going over team needs and its taking longer than I expected. Also, I doubt Denver takes Ronnie Brown in the first round. That just goes completely against their thinking in the draft. Mike Shanahan and the Broncos almost always get a running back in atleast the 2nd round, and sometimes later, because almost all running backs can succeed in that system, so taking one in the first round is a waste. BTW, just a little bit of trivia...anyone know the last time Denver DID take a running back in the first round(without looking it up...cuz I had to )? I think the year was 1985, but the name escapes me at this point. Was it someone like Sewell from OU?

Yes, Steve Sewell, with the 26th overall pick in the draft, out of OU in 1985.

I, too, was interested in seeing the last Bronco RB taken in the first round. Sewell. I can't believe I remembered that. Me Draft nerd. AddisonStSox
Well, for those of you playing at home, the answer was Tommy Maddox. In a million guesses, I never would have come up with that. In 1992, the Broncos selected Tommy Maddox in the first round out of UCLA. I wouldn't be suprised to see Mr. Maddox in a Bear uniform next season. CSF
Take Leinart off of those lists. He said he is returning to USC for his 5th year.

Palehosefan
Maddox is a pretty solid QB as long as he has protection. He can't run if his life depended on it. But if you do give him time, he will give you a good passing game. Definitely bettern than Hutchinson, because Maddox has proven himself already. DBAHO
All I'm going to say about Chad is that he needs real good protection to succeed. Whether the Bears can do that, I doubt it, unless they seriously upgrade at LT and one of their guard spots. And he won't be a fit for the West Coast offense Ron Turner is implementing either. SoxFan1
Im a little late but I agree with the Braylan Edwards pick. He IS the besat WR in the draft. Williams hasnt played in a year. It's still too early to tell but if the Bears trade the pick or dont draft Edwards/Williams, im gonna turn into a frickin 49ers fan! It's the obvious choice. Edwrds has the deep play skills and the possession WR skills. He reminds me of Moss because he can go deep or catch a 3 yards in. We'll see how they both do in the combione though. LDF
with the list of player planning on stay another yr in college instead of coming out, this is going to make this weak draft even weaker. i can see the bears more than ever trading the pick. Soxbadger
If the bears trade, I think they will have to accept something like: Number 4 over all for Teams first round this year, 2 or 3 this year, and 1st or 2nd next year. I dont know who will want 4 bad enough to give up 2 firsts this year. SB
LDF
i think that you are way off on this. how were you able to figure out the value of the pick???
