JDsDirtySox
Did anyone else happen to see (on Friday) the Hyatt Security guard selling 8x10's to people in the crowd. It was amazing... people were buying 8x10's from the guy for like 10 bucks a piece.

I asked questions at every seminar I went to, and there was a lot of good info, a lot of fun, and even a little alcohol, right guys? you looked like you were upset about something, so i left you be. very nice hat though, i love it... whitesoxin'
Man Soo Lee is really cool. Last year I went to a game that got postponed and our tickets were right by the bullpen. We talked to him in the rain a lot and then the next day we came back for the doubleheader and had the same seats. He recognized us and talked to us again. He's an awesome guy. Told me to keep on catching and maybe someday I could be a bullpen catcher too.

Rowand44
Just got back a couple hours ago from being there all 3 days, I had a great time. I think there were a couple of you I recognized like aboz, jason, and steff but for some reason I didn't say hi to anyone, I don't know why. I prolly saw you to 2k5 just don't recall seeing a picture of you so I don't know what you look like. Anyways like I said I had a blast, I think it's safe to say the seminars were completely different this year compared to last year as far as attitude. It was pretty funny when steff went up to make a comment to Kenny and he said "aren't you the one who yelled at me last year," it looked like you got kind of embarrased steff, lol. Hope everyone else had a good time too.

Steff
Eh.. back to the real world today. Mexico was great.. but the weekend was awesome. Lots to share and some pictures to post but I have to make a dent in these 1,041 emails I got while gone.. first. Just want to back-up Jason and Mike in saying it was nice to see those of you I don't see or talk to on a regular basis. This weekend will definitely be on the lips of several for some time to come.. Steff
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 15, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) Me and Soxnbears are sittin here watchin the football game, with Brian (IlliniKrush) "sleeping" on the bed. LMAO.. the line of the weekend was "Steff killed Kenny" until he showed up at dinner to a round of applause. Capped off by an evening straight out of the "How to fit 7 people into a car made for 4" manual.. I think he recovered nicely.
ISF
SoxFest was a blast. Met Steff, who introduced me to several people, that I later forgot in my drunken stupor. Lesson learned this year: Don't drink on an empty stomach. Bill Melton spent about an hour bs'ing at our table. He's pretty cool. I can't understand where Everett got his bad rap. Everett was great, I asked him if he was gonna give us .280 this year, he said .280? I'm gonna hit .300. He's in shape, I could believe it. He sure likes his denim though... Got some autographs, met some cool people, have some excellent stories. Wish more could have made it.
Steff
A couple things before I forget.. those that are worried about Carl.. don't. He is already in awesome shape. And his attitude is amazing. I can't tell you how many times he promised a .300 ba. I believe him. Hawk confirmed DJ was at a family wedding (which is what I had heard). Freddy got married 2 weeks ago and ironically was in Cancun the same time Jim and I were there. There was an issue with his papers going from Mexico to the US so he had to go back home first, thus not making it to the fest. Not a big deal, IMO. Willie still has a bit of a chip on his shoulders.. but he said he's looking forward to Rock working him. That's a positive sign, IMO, from his "I am the s***" attitude last year. Speaking of Rock.. he was hysterical.. and for some reason was the only person my 4 year old neice would pose for a picture with. She was scared crapless of Southpaw. One other thing.. the guys from the World Crossing board were sitting next to us Friday night.. great guys. Melton talked their ears off for a good hour or two. That's real good to hear about Everett. I suppose I've come to expect the worse with him and Uribe with the reports of them not being in shape and overweight, but now it seems that they are ready to go for Spring Training. Hopefully Jurassic Carl can actually get through quite a lot of games this season, as we'll need him in the first few months especially. Let's hope he can get off to a hot start like he did with the Rangers back in 2003, it's certainly not out of the question.

CWSGuy406
Well, here's my story... Got there Saturday morning, to see Brian (IlliniKrush) totally knocked out on the bed. Rather than waking him, my brother just told me to leave him be . I'm not much of an autographs guy, so I attended most of the seminars. The trivia was a blast, Rooney was pretty histerical IMHO. Family Matters with Gload/Politte/Rowand/Crede was alright, and Rowand is hilarious. Then came the conference with the GM and Ozzie and Hawk, nice job at the mic Steff, ABoz, and SS2k. After that we walked around a bit, and me and Steve (soxnbears) decided that we couldn't pass up the 50$ deal (cut from 125$) on the grey "Chicago" coat that Ozzie wore throughout the season. So, we went back to the hotel room to listen to the NU/Illini game and to watch some football, as well as hear Brian's Oreo story. After that, we all met up (thanks Steff ) at Houlihan's, where we saw a nice firework show just across the street, and that was a nice surprise. Food was good. After that, it was a couple hours of poker with me, Brian, and Steve. And then the real fun started . Steff comes up and tells us to come down to the bar. Now, if you've never seen me, I can barely pass for 15 (I'm actually 16), and your supposed to be 21 to get into the bar. Me, Brian, and Steve ran right by the security guard "patrolling" the entrance. By the time we were there, Harris couldn't see straight, and Rowand's eyes were glazed over. Jason, our wonderful site administrator, was obviously a little tipsy, and urging me to drink anything I could get ahold of. So, I had a beer (couldn't even take down half of a 24 ouncer) -- as well as many others offering sips of their drinks. I think my mom would have been glad to know what I was doing Saturday night. So, while drinking this beer, there's a security guard right behind me (and like I said, it's totally obvious I'm not even close to 21). Security guard taps me on the shoulder, and I play the dumb game ("I didn't know that you're supposed to be 21"). Steve comes with me, and we get back to the room, and I'm freaking out. Someone knocks on the door and yells "Security", and I'm scared s***less, only to see Steff and Brian laughing at the door. All in all, though, it really was one of the best times of my life. Saturday night was such an awesome time. I cannot wait until next year.
