Kalapse
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 23, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) I'm guessing this game will be a lot closer than the NFC one. Well I'm hoping at least. WRONG!

Palehosefan
Congrats to Ben chokeonaburger for messing up Jerome Bettis' last chance at the superbowl. Not that I'm bitter or anything. EDITED: I'll edit this since I posted it in anger.
WHarris1
Giving up 41 points really helped too.
Palehosefan
Yep its tough not to when you give up 3 interceptions and a fumble. Like I said earlier, everyone decided to choke in the same game. The Patriots are an amazing team though. Couldn't have picked a worse time to completely fall apart. Cowher is now 1-4 in AFC championship games, yikes. Gene Honda Civic
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 23, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Congrats to Ben chokeonaburger for f***ing up Jerome Bettis' last chance at the superbowl. I hope that dips*** goes into a long depression over this. Not that I'm bitter or anything. The kid was the field general for 25 straight victories. I don't think there's any need to start calling him a choke artist. I am starting to come around on Tom Brady though, he's one victory away from an automatic spot in Canton. Palehosefan
Regular season wins are nice, but when you choke in your only two playoff starts, not much else you can say. He made some absolutely horrible throws in the playoffs, yes he's a rookie, but he did choke this year. I'm not giving up hope for the future with him, I'm just pissed that Jerome's probable last chance was ruined.
Kalapse
The Steelers looked god damn pathetic out there, everytime they needed a stop they'd let Dillon run for a first down, they couldn't takle for s*** out there.
DonkeyKongerko
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 23, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) Well there's some good golf on ESPN. Tiger looked good today. Not 1999-2000 good but maybe 2002 good.

That he had to rely on a rookie to get him there says all you need to know about him... Maybe it's Bettis you should be directing your anger towards. he's 0-3 in AFC championships. Rex Kickass
Any rookie who leads his team to an AFC championship game doesn't seem like a choker to me.

Palehosefan
"How do you blame a running back for losing 3 AFC Championship games if you're gonna blame anyone blame Cower." Bingo Kalapse, the QB touches the ball every single snap. He is the one that controls every part of the offense. Bettis did have a fumble while trying to stretch on a 4th down run, but he didn't throw 3 interceptions and kill any chance Pitt had. I blame Cowher more than anyone for the losses, teams just come more prepared than he does. As for Ben carrying the Steelers to the AFC championship, that simply didn't happen. Yes he helped out tremendously in the regular season. But it was the running game and the defense that carried the Steelers to the AFC championship, including their first playoff game when Ben choked again and the Steelers managed to squeek it out with defense. Hopefully Jerome will come back for another year and try to get closer to 3rd/4th place on the rushing list.
