They fall on the same day, which sucks because i'll only be at one or the other. I hope it's the latter, but either way i'm going to be at one hell of a game (assuming i can get final four tix as well IF illinois gets there). Kinda odd how this "worked out" for me.

Don't you think you are counting your chickens before they are hatched?? Illinois is very good and they may well be there, but I think it is a bit premature to be posting your Final Four plans.

Krush, are you the kind of guy that goes around telling all his friends that a pitcher has a no-hitter going in the 7th inning? I'm guessing so. lol

I've been to three final fours.

Hope you plan on paying a premium for tickets if you are unable to get them through the NCAA.

A lot of the seats are sold through the lottery which has already been held for this year's. Then a selected number is given to the schools, which they can dispurse at their discretion.

Back in 1997, when UK played Arizona for the title, I was offered $1200 for my lower level seat and turned it down. Earlier in the weekend I was offered $2000 for tickets to all three games.

I was offered about $500 back in 2000 for the Michigan St title game, which I obviously went to.

Moral of the story is, pray you get tickets through the school.

You were at the UK AZ final in Indy in 97? I was too.

Yep, I've been to the last 3 in Indy. You been to any others Mike?

Duke winning their first title under Coach K; AZ over UK and then State over FL.

I'll be at the next one in Indy as well and maybe next year's, depending on whether or not I decide to go to ST next spring. (this year and last year I chose ST over the Final Four.)

What part about "IF illinois gets there" don't you understand?

I just found it ironic they are both on the same day. Nowhere have i EVER said that illinois would win the national championship, OR make the final four.  Jesus.

So if Illinois doesn't make it to the final four (God Forbid :pray) you still might be going to the Championship game? I'd rather go to opening day if that's the case.

"Duke winning their first title under Coach K"

Wow, you are 7 or 8 when you went to your first final 4? Thats awesome. I'm 21 and still dying for my first final 4. That had to be scarring to see a giant rat on the sideline cheering though right ;-)?

I was nine years old or had just turned 9.

I remember NC, Kansas, Duke and UNLV were in it, if I recall correctly.

It was part of the reason I became such a big fan of Grant Hill. I still remember that alley-oop he caught from half court from Hurley.

However, my three final fours fail in comparison to another family member who has been to 22 straight, with the last one missed being for my birth. Now that is impressive.

Nah that's the only one I have been to. I keep meaning to get in the lotteries for the close ones, and always forget. Indy is coming up again right?

It'll be in Indy every 5 years for 38 or 39 years, IIRC.

Makes sense with Indiana being the basketball capital of the world as well as having the NCAA headquarters there as well.

Damn I'm proud to be from Indiana. :headbang

St Louis is 2006 right?  I might try for that one as well...

St Louis is 2005 I believe.

So that makes Indy 2006.

Atlanta 2007, San Antonio 2008, Detroit 2009, Indy 2010, Houston 2011.

Guess that means I'll be back again next yr.

Indianapolis the host with the most

Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis will host the NCAA men's basketball Final Four an average of every five years through 2039.

The home to NCAA headquarters also will stage the women's Final Four on a five-year rotation and preliminary rounds in both basketball tournaments under an agreement between NCAA and local officials announced Wednesday.

Indianapolis also will host the NCAA convention on a five-year rotation and will be a backup site if cities slated to hold Final Fours have to drop out.

The 2005 women's Final Four and the 2006 and 2010 men's Final Fours already were assigned to Indianapolis.

The agreement also extends the NCAA's lease on its national office and Hall of Champions for 10 years through 2039, with options on three 10-year extensions through 2069. The NCAA moved its headquarters from the Kansas City area in 1999.

Indianapolis hosted the men's Final Four in 1991, 1997 and 2000.

Think of it this way Krush if Illinois doesn't make it to the championship game then you'll have something to get your mind off of it. This happened last year too, I kind of miss the format a couple years back when opening day was a week before because the first week of the season I was on spring back that was pretty nice. As for this year I'll be at opening day, I'm really looking forward to it, it'll be my first time at an opening day and it's kind of extra special because it's the first game of the year, I really can't wait :)

I understand IF very well. IF a pitcher gets 9 more outs after the sixth inning without allowing a hit, he'll get that no-hitter.

:)

My memories of the 2001(?) (MSU/UF) game drastically differ from your accounts Aboz. My dad was workin a job in Indy, and got himself a tix in a suite, but he knew I wanted to go, so he sold his a day before the game for $350... The day of, there was obviosly no tix to be had for cheap, until about 20 minutes b4 game time... We were able to get two seats for $125 total -- once we got inside, we made our way towards our level, stopping of to get some food. While in line he saw a member of the firm he was workin with in Indy, told him the situation (scalping his one so two of us could go) and he was able to get us into the Suite. Once there I was able to talk BBall with Rick Majerus, in between his mouthfuls of everything from the buffet.
