beck72
QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 04:45 AM) If Ozuna is any good at all he can beat out Valdez. Valdez is almost worthless and doesn't belong on a major league roster. If Pokey Reese can be on a major league roster [and play for an extended time w/ Boston], Wilson Valdez can play for the sox. beck72
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 05:48 AM) He does not walk therfore he has no place on a major league team that wants to contend whatsoever. See Pokey Reese. I'm not sure if Reese walks much. But he certainly can't hit. At least Valdez can make consistent contact. I think Valdez is a guy who can fill in for an extended period of time if Uribe went down. He won't help much [offensively]. But he won't hurt a team either [defensively]. Like in years past, think Erik Almonte filling in for Jeter, or last yr Reese for Nomar
JUGGERNAUT
Anybody can beat Harris out in ST. Out of all 25 men on the roster he's the most likely to lose his job. There are at least 6 strong LH starters in the ALC this year. That doesn't include the pens.
Jabroni
Wow, I was looking at Pablo Ozuna's minor league stats and they are pretty damn impressive... http://www.sports-wired.com/players/profile.asp?ID=628 He can play 2B and SS and he stole alot of bases so he must be pretty fast. I hope this guy beats out Wilson Valdez for the backup utility job. Who cares if he's really 30 years old instead of 26. Iguchi is 30 as well. ottawa_sox
QUOTE(BamaDoc @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 03:41 AM) If he wins utility job does he bat left or right handed? Could spell Willie vs lefties? QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) Anyone know the answer to this? I'm curious about this as well... He bats righthanded. So far he has faced southpaws only 28 times at the major league level, so the following numbers are, perhaps, not very relevent. FWIW he shows 5 singles for a BA of .179. 3 Ks and 0 walks.
