Jabroni
It actually says that the White Sox first offer was a 2-year, $4 million contract with a $3 million option for a 3rd year in 2007.

Jabroni
The Lead Sox aren't interested in Iguchi. They just re-signed Mark Bellhorn to start at 2B and traded for Ramon Vazquez to be their backup 2B and SS. Iguchi doesn't really have any other options but us if he wants playing time. Considering the value of honour in the Far East, coupled with Bellhorn being handed the 1st string job , I would think the Red Sox are out of the running with the 'screw mosquito' comment. Right on Ross! In fact, IIRC, if Iguchi signs to these terms, he'll be making less than he would have in Japan to come and play in the States. Well, Kenny, nows the time. s*** or get off the pot. Well, Kenny, nows the time. s*** or get off the pot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, no. Iguchi made 240,000,000 Japanese Yen last season which is equal to around $2.3 million U.S. Dollars. The article says that Iguchi's agent is asking for a 2-year, $6 million contract to come to the White Sox. That would be an increase in what he made last season unless of course some Japanese team offered him more money.

He's good, he's going to make an impact with our ball club. Plus it makes Harris more expendable and forces him to compete at second base...should put a fire cracker up his ass to get going...and think of the versatility off the bench with Willie as a pinch runner. Ian's right tho, right on bud..

I heard a $4M figure somewhere; I was under the impression that was what he was going to make in 2005. Regardless, pull the trigger. Low-risk, High reward. I say low-risk, because although you aren't paying him tradtional "Sox low-risk" money, you have to consider Wilson Freaking Valdez is the utlity MI. Although he hasn't seen one pitch in the MLB, I have to think he's more major leagure ready than Valdez. Game three, Harris goes down with a torn ACL, Valdez gets the start. Ouch. Do it. Do it Kenny. Do it.
babybearhater
Thanks....its nice to find somewhere to talk Sox and forget another chicago team even exists.
