Get the snow off the ground, let's play some ball I wonder how Willie is going to steal those 65 bases from the bench. He better have and OBP of like 450. AddisonStSox
Just got back from class...Ye-Ha!!! All hail Kenny on an amazing off-season. Completely stellar. Kenny has undoubtedly earned an A this off-season. And...we didn't break the bank. Kenny took the time, negotiated and got his price. Amazing. bulokis
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) $4.9 million or $4.6 million? A very fine job by KW. Signing Iguchi for this amount instead of Kaz Matsui money is just damn great job. Cant wait for Spring training.
Winnin Ugly
I told everyone on friday night that Iguchi was very close to signing with the sox.. According to some reports that a japanese friend told me...

Hey -- when Thomas is healthy, it will be nice having two solid bats off of the bench in Harris (assuming he makes the team, which he might not), as well as Everett. Wow... I'm just really happy at how well-rounded this team is. There isn't an easy out in this lineup, and if things go fairly well, we might have a lineup that, 1-9, won't hit below .250 (Crede is a stretch, but I'm fairly confident he'll bounce back for us). Mr. Showtime
I'd didn't hear what Levine said, but 4.9 might be what he can make in incentives. When the press release comes out all will be cleared up.

Butter Parque
yeah, I don't see how you could put a guy who has never played a big-league game in the 2-spot. Put him in the 9-spot and get him some confidence. They should put Rowand in the 2-spot so he gets some pitches to hit and get him off to a good start. southsider2k5
QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) yeah, I don't see how you could put a guy who has never played a big-league game in the 2-spot. Rowand wasn't going to be the 2 slot hitter even before the Iguchi signing. It was going to be Uribe.

LF Podsednik SS Uribe RF Dye 1B Konerko DH Everett CF Rowand C Pierzynski 3B Crede 2B Harris Of course, that was before we signed Iguchi. GoodAsGould
wow this is pretty amazing... now im not sure if im right but i thought i heard someone here say b4 they dont throw the 2 seam fastball in Japan... so les hope he see's a lot of those in spring training or he might struggle. Also i think he should start in the 2 spot he will see better pitches there.
Chisoxfn
Fantastic move. It was going to be Uribe. Am I the only one who doesn't want to see Uribe in the two spot? He's more of an RBI/HR guy, not really good for OBP/contact. I'd much rather have Rowand hitting there, but maybe that's just me...

If he doesn't, I'd rather see Rowand batting 2nd again with Iguchi batting 9th.
